An Oyster's Story - A Parable for all Times (Short Story) - 8/20/2011 7:15:32 PM
a small, humble grain of sand ... silica ... silicon ... silicone ... from a precious pearl to semi-precious combinations, like: quartz, granite, opal, agate, sand ... from lubricants to circuit boards from Silicon Valley - billions of 'chips' in millions of computers ... a humble grain of sand ... a humble little oyster ... GREAT PARABLE! Peace ... Tom.

A Golden Leaf (Short Story) - 8/20/2011 6:58:58 PM
Sha'Tara ... a member for over 3 years, and only 2 posts - very unusual - I assume because REG posted many for you? Either way, Welcome Aboard! There are millions of 'mysteries' which abound in Nature, proof positive that 'Truth is stranger than Fiction.' Whether these are attributable to 'Mother Nature' or a 'Creator' or 'Supreme being' or some unknown 'Visiting Alien' ... does not matter. Origins dating back millions or billions of years are superfluous - their sheer unexplainable existences are what is paramount. The fact that they are witnessed - THEY EXIST - that is what IS! Enjoy them while ye may! GOLDEN RING? Perhaps a symbol of the 'Circle of Life'? Maybe the origin of the golden ring used in Marriages, as the symbol of 'Eternal Love'? Forsooth, its 'purpose in Life? You certainly do Challenge the Mind! Peace ... Tom.

I'm glad to see you here, Sha'tara. You know I like this story. Please let me know when the "why?" has an answer. You're good with dialogue. Post more of your work and see what feedback you get. It is interesting to see what readers see in our work; often that which we fail to see. Be sure to post some of your poetry. Beauty should be shared. It's a thing that can be given away and yet held close at the same time. One question: Why does poetry sound so much more beautiful in French? Does English poetry sound so much better TO the French?
