Your poem asks us to rejoice in our differences and to love and applaud them for their intrinsic worth. For much more is gained in love than conflict. Ron

Hold My Hand (Poetry) - 3/10/2009 3:42:28 PM
Rozzy, I am as light as you are dark, but I think I have a problem--I'm kind of color-blind! I'm interested in people who are different races than I am, though. If we got to know each other, I might try to find out in what ways your views and your culture are different from mine. I think I learn even from the things I read on AD by various authors. We're all kinds here, that's a fact! I enjoyed this challenging poem. A belated welcome to you...hope you like AD! Connie

Hold My Hand (Poetry) - 2/18/2009 5:57:17 AM
Rozzy, this is wonderful message!!! Unfortunately...much as we think that there are many good people in this world, there are also some racist pigs around. It's sad when people don't see past the skin colors. Sandie Angel :o) P.S. By the way, this is not to confuse you. I have two ID's here in the den, and this one I'm using now to comment you is of a Lifetime Basic free membership that I had acquired years ago when I first joined AD. My two links are: (Lifetime Basic free account) (Bronze membership account)

Hold My Hand (Poetry) - 2/10/2009 3:50:13 PM
We are so alike under our skin. If only more people could realize that. It always catches me off guard when people ask if I am my children's mother...(I have 7 children from Haiti, and I am a very pale Cauc.) I guess I expect them to see the ties that bind us together. While I know that we are different colors, the color of each of my children is just a tiny tiny part of them and is not what makes them who they are... I don't notice that they are black and that I am white until I look through others' eyes. Cryssa

Measure of A Beautiful Woman (Poetry) - 2/10/2009 3:42:54 PM

Am I My Stereotype? (Poetry) - 2/10/2009 3:41:10 PM
There are so many different cultures and traditions and ethnicities in my family... to stereotype...well, it just doesn't make any sense as it denies the fact that we are each an individual. Cryssa

Hold My Hand (Poetry) - 2/9/2009 2:08:55 PM
I too pray for this...and I realize that it's just still difficult for many...too much from past generations instilled in many of us...I know from experience...and it's taken me far too long to shed the onion skin...but now like when I found Jesus...I have found the way...and it's wonderful...I've spent far too many years not knowing beautiful people because of generational teachings....there does come a time to let it go and relish the new and beautiful friendships that are out there!!! Ironically, it seems that I always end up with a best friend over my lifetime that is not of my own race...and I wonder why that is? Probably because under it all, God gave me a pure and loving heart...and for that I am so grateful! Welcome Rozzy...hugs, lindalaw

Thats so true! I been chased by women I thought were ugly all my life and turns out I was more ugly than them. Fortunately, I was blind but now I see. I don't need any bifocals no more to see the real beauty of the black woman. You definitely restore the entire beauty of our sisters with your words.

Measure of A Beautiful Woman (Poetry) - 1/22/2009 9:02:45 PM
I think it is..."to everyone his/her own taste"!!! You always see the most ridiculous matches in husbands and wives, but they do see the beauties within each other. I think the phrase "Love Is Blind" is true. When one is in love with the other, no matter what the other does, beauty is in the eyes of the beholders. Sandie Angel :o)
