Eternal Love: Romantic Poetry Straight from the Heart (Book) - 6/25/2011 7:07:55 PM
Stacey, your comments about this piece I created would be interesting -
Two Lovers.
A Wedding took place in a church long ago,
the groom was resplendent, the bride was aglow.
They had known each other since ringlets and curls,
she was the pick of the bunch ; amongst all other girls.
He tried many ways to impress her; no doubt,
when he succeeded, inside he would shout.
There's pleasure and pain in courtship and love,
but if the god Eros smiles down from above,
both hearts will entwine and love will ensue,
with trust, dedication; both must be true.
Time just moves on, and lovers do too,
in the mid nineteen fifties, it was me ; it was you.
I tried to impress you in so many ways,
I loved you, I left you and counted the days
we took to resolve the situation : no doubt.
Perhaps that's what true love is really about.
There's pleasure and pain in courtship and love,
but when the god Eros smiles down from above,
both hearts will entwine and love will ensue,
with trust, dedication; both must be true.
The years are unfolding toward the next century
unknown the adventures that still are to be.
As lovers have continued through all of the ages
we too ; will have our story, in history's pages.
I love you still, of that there's : no doubt,
that's what true love is really about.
.
There's pleasure and pain in courtship and love
but because the god Eros smiled down from above,
both hearts have entwined and love did ensue.
With trust : dedication
both have been true.

Dear Stacey,
Congratulations on your work published in Chicken Soup. I submitted a story a while back for their upcoming volume about teachers and students, but I'm still waiting to hear from them. I love books that explain, in a child's language, those "adult world" things they struggle to understand. Well done, Stacey. I can see this being a series of children's books to explain all kinds of medical mysteries to children.

The Complete Herbal Guide: A Natural Approach to Healing the Body (Book) - 3/21/2008 3:30:57 PM
Thanks for sharing this article. My diet has helped me since I have been following it. I might decide to purchase this book for myself.
How Diet Can Help
The foods you eat can boost your immune system and prevent symptoms. A Japanese study assessed the possible protective effect of the traditional Japanese diet on allergies. They looked at 1002 Japanese pregnant women, and found that calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus were associated with a decreased prevalence of allergies. The typical North American diet tends to be lower in magnesium and calcium:

My Mommy Has Epilepsy (Book) - 3/21/2008 3:28:05 PM
Greetings,
I did like your writing style and some of your accomplishments. Keep up the good work speaking at schools. Some medicines will tell you if you continute to take them you could have a seizure.
So one day I sat down wrote a story about the day I had a seizure.
Accomplishments: I am an H.O.P.E. Mentor, for the Epilepsy Foundation. I speak at different events for schools, organizations, political events and anywhere my help is needed to educate people about epilepsy. I have recently been on four talk shows. The interviews focused on the importance of understanding what epilepsy is, how to help someone having a seizure and giving people with epilepsy encouragement and hope for the future.
I have been on radio stations discussing epilepsy and I have recently appeared in many newspapers all over New Jersey such as, The Leader, Belleville Post and the Star Ledger. On June 26, 2002, I was honored an award by the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey for Outstanding Volunteer Award and I spoke in Washington in front of congress.
I created techniques, inspirational words to inspire your soul and much more.
Near-death experiences
Give people encouragement, hope, to help them realize that they are somebody — that they all have a meaning in life and just have to find that destination."

Live Learn, and Be Happy with Epilepsy (Book) - 11/2/2006 3:16:27 PM
I have always thought that you have been able to live and be happy with epilepsy other people just do not understand that because the dr doesn't tell them they do just what the dr tells them and that is that they can do nothing and that is why I am try to speak out about this I also have 2kids seizures married 15yrs and ,VNS , take 4 meds. but still have seizures I had a TC last night they change alot but we get up and go on and do what awe have to do.
Keep it up! More people need to speak up I am trying to get something started in Tennessee. and it has been really hard because there is no help here.

How Powerful Words Can Be (Short Story) - 10/12/2010 6:22:01 AM
Thank you for this wonderful paper.
Words are powferful. Just think, In the beginning was the word
the word was God . God spoke the word an everthing came into being.
How powerful thy art. People dream ,plan, ideas form in the mind. They come forth as images. Words can make or break, words with faith can move mountains.

Living With Epilepsy (Short Story) - 5/1/2010 7:59:38 PM
Stacey,
You've been through a lot! I too, had, epilepsy for thirty years, went through every conceivable medicine on the market, but it wasn't until my 40s they found out the real cause. you've probably heard of catamenial epilepsy, it affects your hormones. I never put two and two together, and like you, my seizures came around my period. My doctor (not neurologist) put me on low dose birth control pills because of an ovarian cyst I had. I've been seizure free for ten years. I still have to take lamictal and klonopin, which were making me better than I had been, but the pill killed the seizures completely. But as you said, everything is done for a reason. My epilepsy was for me to teach. There are so many people that know nothing of this malady, I educated quite a few people. I think you have too, on a vast scale.

Fixing Common Relationship Problems (Article) - 4/7/2011 4:44:53 PM
I can't believe this has been posted for over six weeks and no one has commented on the priceless guidlines you present!
Because of a couple of items I've posted on AD--"Crooked Woman Fool,"
"Begin Again, Ab Initio" and "I was Made for You," I receive regular emails detailing painful woes of personal relationships gone bad and thanking me for my posted items that they thought helpful.
So where are those persons now? Your article "Fixing Common Relationship Problems" is just what they need to incorporate into their daily lives.
I think far too many of us think "I found my soulmate and now I'll live happily ever after." Certainly they didn't read your truism above: "Relationships are hard work just like everything else in life."
Strange, isn't it? I've been married to the same woman for over 59 years, and I found your advice right on point. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
Very helpful article, Stacey. Thank you.

Learning To Be Happy With Epilepsy (Article) - 11/26/2010 6:07:24 AM
iv had epilepsy since i was 12 years old and was told it was hormonal and would grow out of it by the time i was 18 im 21 now and still going through it i just want to no why im having so many seizures when on my tests they cant see anything i ended up in Buckinghamshire hospital for people with epilepsy they were very good in there but still not a thing they diagnosed it as idiopathic epilepsy. but iv been struggling and now on anti-depresants im getting better and feeling better and me and my partner are now planning a family but not for another 1yr or 2 iv always been scared as they always tell you about the down side of pregnancy like birth defects and so on but iv now met plenty of woman while i was in hospital i met some great woman who even told me themselves they all had normal births and made me feel a hell lot better. it also made me feel better being able to talk to people who have epilepsy themselves as not alot of people who dont have it never understand what your going through. im planning for babies now and hope i cn live a normal life just like anyone eles.

The Great Howling Dog in the Mist of the Night (Poetry) - 6/11/2013 5:27:10 AM
All domestic dogs were originally wolves and foxes. We have little to fear from wolves and coyotes today, but in the time before written history, in a time of hunger, wolf packs would come into camps and steal the young and attack the old. Hence, our innate fear of the call of the wolf. From that, stories like Little Red Riding Hood continue the myth that wolves are bad.

Dear Stacey,
You said it well and poetic fashion no less!
I agree 110 percent. Pets are gifts from God...period!
We are stupid human beings for making excuses not to have the BEST companion in our lives!
I waited so long to have a pet because we were not allowed to have them in our apartment growing up.
Our cats are both from shelters. They have been a blessing.
My Sammy thinks he is a dog. He follows me everywhere and greets me at the door every single day. Got to love them!

That was really funny… And probably very true! It reminds me of my dog, Jazz, a little black Pomeranian. He figured how to jump from my office chair to my desk to get my snacks. I had to put my chair a long way from the desk so that he could make the jump when I was gone.

FAMILY: Fun - Acceptance- Memories - Individuality - Love - You (Poetry) - 4/26/2013 8:43:19 PM
Dear Stacy,
I was thinking about you yesterday. Why? Because you are one of my favorite writers on the den. Sometimes we wait for a special message to come and it comes from a friend just in time. I am Italian and I was brought up from the old school. Family is family and you never leave your family out of an event. That includes cousins, aunts, uncles or other extended family. It's sometimes so sad in this new age way of thinking that my niece and others will not have my daughter stay with them because it is not a good time, even though it's grandma's 90th birthday. What is happening to our sense of family? My daughter had no place to stay so in order to keep the peace she just stayed home. Sometimes I get more comfort from my pets than I get from my family. It's a different world. We are not as open and trusting as we used to be. We hurt others and think nothing of it. I truly don't know how people survive today without the love and hugs we get from those cuddly creatures we call pets. They LOVE unconditionally. Family used to be that way - I afraid to say I loved your poem but it's not what is happening in American society today. My wife has a family that is at least partially old school. The rest is simply dysfunctional.
Peace, love and blessings,
John Michael Domino

I believe there are angels that watch over us and guide us through life, even when things are thrown at us that we cannot control. A good way to self healing is positive thinking and a willingness to help those whom you can.
But even though we may be positive, there are skeletons from our closets that just keep at us and keep at us, until we break down and cry.
This poem from your book is very inspirational and soul soothing. Thank you for sharing.

What If Jesus Came (Poetry) - 5/1/2010 5:09:24 PM
Fantastic timeless write!
If Jesus came to our door, He would see a cross.
Once inside He might wipe his sandals on our carpet.
The carpet embrodery says, "God Bless This Home."
In the entrance Jesus would see a bronze statue of Him.
In the livingroom is another statue of Jesus hugging a child.
If Jesus looked on top the piano He'd see a framed "Crown of Thorns" Above our TV is another fromed picture of the Light of Jesuis.
If he looked at our diningroom cabinet he would see a beautiful wedgewood reproduction of "The Last Supper."
If he went into our kitchen he would see a wooden carving above the sink that says, "Give us this day our daily bread."
He would see that we have many books in the cabinet of our study.
More than half of these books are Christian in nature.
In our computer room He would see a photo of Himself on a sailboat.
Under the sailboat it says, "Peace be still, Mark 4:39."
In our master bathroom there is scripture notes all over our mirrors.
If He walked in our bedroom He would see "Precious Moments" statues.
He would also see a cross and two framed needlepoints that have very kind words about us that would bless anyone who reads the messages.
Some of our favorite scriptures are in frames throughout our home.
If Jesus wanted to listen to radio or television we could share so many of our favorite Christian programs with Him. Many are recorded.
Yes, I think Jesus would feel very welcomed in our home.
Thank you so much for asking!
How about you? Are you ready to invite Jesus into your home?

The True Meaning of a Mother (Poetry) - 11/14/2009 9:10:19 AM
This is so beautiful Stacey, a wonderful tribute to your mother. I wish I could have words like this for my mother, but she never knew what love is all about. In the first 10 years of my life I lived with my mother's best friend's family (see A Remembrance Of My Grandma Dolly) in Michigan's U.P. then shortly after that, my mother not only abandoned me but also disowned me adding insult to injury. But I suppose I can think of my auntie Caroline whom I thought was my mother for the first 10 years of my life. This is written very well and with tender emotions of fond memories. Thanks for sharing.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister, Barbie.

Look at following lines from Thompson's Daisy;
"Nothing begins, nothing ends,
that's not paid with a moan.
For we are born in others pain
and perish in our own."
The journey from 'others pain' to "our own" ic quite enamouring encompassing it's own happiness and sadness. Life is the way you look at it. Yours is really a beautiful approach..

From one who has allowed a few, even more, disorders into my checkered and wayward life, your words are the absolute truth. Even when I was down, and I mean down, I never felt I was a victim, rather I felt that it necessary to take that very first step, and so doing I found that the rest of the steps toward fulfillment and conquering the disorder came much more easily.

This is so wonderful and full of unconditional love. Some children are very lucky to have a mother that loves them unconditionally and will stand in front of that child and protect him or her from whatever. Some people aren't so lucky. This is a wonderful poem of love and hope, and the picture is just darling. Thank you for sharing.
Just one thing. In line 16 you have written "your". Did you mean to write "you"?
