My Mommy Has Epilepsy (Book) - 4/26/2008 9:16:34 AM
I love books that explain, in a child's language, those "adult world" things they struggle to understand. Well done, Stacey. I can see this being a series of children's books to explain all kinds of medical mysteries to children.

The Complete Herbal Guide: A Natural Approach to Healing the Body (Book) - 3/21/2008 3:30:57 PM
Thanks for sharing this article. My diet has helped me since I have been following it. I might decide to purchase this book for myself.
How Diet Can Help
The foods you eat can boost your immune system and prevent symptoms. A Japanese study assessed the possible protective effect of the traditional Japanese diet on allergies. They looked at 1002 Japanese pregnant women, and found that calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus were associated with a decreased prevalence of allergies. The typical North American diet tends to be lower in magnesium and calcium:

My Mommy Has Epilepsy (Book) - 3/21/2008 3:28:05 PM
Greetings,
I did like your writing style and some of your accomplishments. Keep up the good work speaking at schools. Some medicines will tell you if you continute to take them you could have a seizure.
So one day I sat down wrote a story about the day I had a seizure.
Accomplishments: I am an H.O.P.E. Mentor, for the Epilepsy Foundation. I speak at different events for schools, organizations, political events and anywhere my help is needed to educate people about epilepsy. I have recently been on four talk shows. The interviews focused on the importance of understanding what epilepsy is, how to help someone having a seizure and giving people with epilepsy encouragement and hope for the future.
I have been on radio stations discussing epilepsy and I have recently appeared in many newspapers all over New Jersey such as, The Leader, Belleville Post and the Star Ledger. On June 26, 2002, I was honored an award by the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey for Outstanding Volunteer Award and I spoke in Washington in front of congress.
I created techniques, inspirational words to inspire your soul and much more.

Live Learn, and Be Happy with Epilepsy (Book) - 11/2/2006 3:16:27 PM
I have always thought that you have been able to live and be happy with epilepsy other people just do not understand that because the dr doesn't tell them they do just what the dr tells them and that is that they can do nothing and that is why I am try to speak out about this I also have 2kids seizures married 15yrs and ,VNS , take 4 meds. but still have seizures I had a TC last night they change alot but we get up and go on and do what awe have to do.
Keep it up! More people need to speak up I am trying to get something started in Tennessee. and it has been really hard because there is no help here.

What is your destiny? (Short Story) - 3/2/2008 4:26:48 AM
We are similiar in that when I went to school being a writer was the last thing I would have thought I'd become. In fact I started writing my first book when I was 46 and it was published the year before I had to go off on Medical Disability Pension when I turned 47. Writing is a passion that once began is unsatiable. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings...enjoyed your views.

Your words and sentiments travel through the space and continuum of time to add clarity to purpose and meaning to life. Learn how to overcome depression using 12 simple steps (Article) - 10/5/2009 2:07:16 AM
I just stopped crying from a stressful from my work after I saw your 12 steps... it is good really. I am now depress because I just open my own company for 1 year. It is not what I want to do at first but I lose a job last year and think that I might open own company. But I miss people and society, own business is so lonely and have to have too much energy to fight with other competitor and even waiting for a job. Today I do not have any call from clients or any email to order .... I feel sad and spend an unuseful time day by day. I am not sure that I want to have own business or back to hotel industry which I like (but this economic situation is not a good time to restart!).

A great and infornative article and the only thing I would probably add a little more about scams and Vanity Presses. If you are going to self publish you may also want to compare costs and packages with local printing firms who often do the same as the bigger firms such as Lulu but for a lot less money.
Good write, I am saving this one to offer people who oftenn query me about getting published

YOU DECIDE (Article) - 6/9/2009 7:38:52 PM
Stacy, my two published books along the one that is, at this time, undergoing the first round of professional editing have been and is being published by an online publisher that does publish in paperback.
I can buy my books at a 50% discound and sell them for whatever I can get, and I only sell my books at the listed price. All other sold books I receive a 10% royalty. They have placed me on... Actually I have no idea how many online books sellers have "Becoming" and "The Climbing Boy". I do consider myself very lucky to have my books published without costing me anything. However everything beyond the online book-sellers is my responsibility.

The True Meaning of a Mother (Poetry) - 11/14/2009 9:10:19 AM
This is so beautiful Stacey, a wonderful tribute to your mother. I wish I could have words like this for my mother, but she never knew what love is all about. In the first 10 years of my life I lived with my mother's best friend's family (see A Remembrance Of My Grandma Dolly) in Michigan's U.P. then shortly after that, my mother not only abandoned me but also disowned me adding insult to injury. But I suppose I can think of my auntie Caroline whom I thought was my mother for the first 10 years of my life. This is written very well and with tender emotions of fond memories. Thanks for sharing.

Look at following lines from Thompson's Daisy;
"Nothing begins, nothing ends,
that's not paid with a moan.
For we are born in others pain
and perish in our own."
The journey from 'others pain' to "our own" ic quite enamouring encompassing it's own happiness and sadness. Life is the way you look at it. Yours is really a beautiful approach..

From one who has allowed a few, even more, disorders into my checkered and wayward life, your words are the absolute truth. Even when I was down, and I mean down, I never felt I was a victim, rather I felt that it necessary to take that very first step, and so doing I found that the rest of the steps toward fulfillment and conquering the disorder came much more easily.
