A Reason for Living (Short Story) - 11/23/2012 2:40:07 PM
Religion and science go hand-in-hand in our lives because religion gives us the confidence to believe in ourselves, and science leaves us pondering and ignites our thirst for the unknown and its meaning. Both are enriching our lives. Sandie Angel :o)

Dreaming of Tesla (Short Story) - 7/21/2012 9:58:26 AM
Hawking and others are included here because they are the antithesis of the spirit in which Tesla lived. He was so much more, and I have a personal reason as far as Hawking is concerned. I will be happy to share if you write me roadrunner dot jones at gmail dot com Happy futures to you! Pigeons never claim to be friends but make very good pigeons. Telsa was a pigeon to many including Edison who could have easily been a great benefactor to mankind with good business sense and Nikola Tesla under his wing, but his sense of business and greed left poor Tesla with empty pockets and Edison's empty humor and promise to boot.

Writing My Life Story (Short Story) - 3/22/2012 7:03:03 AM

Love is Myth - Alienation is Real (Short Story) - 1/27/2012 9:28:43 AM
Scary and sadly not uncommon in this world/life. Thanks for sharing, Rockie. Love and peace to you, Regis

Dreaming of Tesla (Short Story) - 1/24/2012 5:00:51 PM
Why are you including Steven Hawking in this article? Also the Wardenclyffe Tower was demolished with dynamite not a wrecking ball. Nikola Tesla was a great man, unfortunately he was not a great businessman, but Edison was. In addition, Tesla was not the first to come up with alternating current. However, his generators and system to distribute power over long distances was superior. He refered to the pigeons as his sincere friends.

Dreaming of Tesla (Short Story) - 1/14/2012 1:34:09 PM
Tesla is a hero of mine as well. Great scientist.

Metamorphosis (Short Story) - 5/27/2011 11:34:09 AM
Rockie, I like how you bravely share your views. Too many folks out there are so worried about offending someone they forget this is supposed to be the land of the free. An interesting way to present this message. I agree society does lean towards apathy most of the time, but when something big happens the majority seems to do the right thing. It's the minority we need to look out for. Hugs, Sheila

Exploring, Guarding and Controlling the Human Mind (Short Story) - 5/8/2011 9:54:18 AM
ROCKIE ... WOW! LET ME REPEAT THAT ... WOW-WOW! This cosmopolitan customized re-incarnation of Leonardo Da Vinci's mind-thought-control process is not only complex and complicated, but also is enough to scare the living 'Be-Jesus' lights out of any thinking organism! With That said - let me say This about That ... when Your contentional confusing Thesis is combined with My conflictional confabulational Anti-thesis, only One Possible Conclusion may be not only Possible, but also Probable ... IT, plus $1.37 (includes taxes) one might purchase a 16 ounce cup of Java at any Royal Farms Store, down here in Bawlmer, Merlyn !!! I can only Hope that Both Regis Auffray AND his Sha Tara DO READ THESE BOTH! NOW - all 'BULL-SHIT' aside, I LOVE how you both Used, and Abused the English language, to demonstrate One of the Best Examples of Governmental, and Corporate Lawyer-Type statements of PURE, UNEMOTIONAL, DOWN-TO-EARTH ... GOOBLE-DE-GOOK !!! This Fine EXPOSE' made both my Heart, and my Mind as well, Pound with an Enthused, Infused, and mostly Confused ... DESIRE to Be a Mental Giant, a Veritable 'Wonder of Wonders' ... a New, Improved, Copy-Righted, Original ... DA VINCI CLONE !!! ROCKIE - if I have, in Any Way, misconstrued What you were stating here, then I Do, most sincerely, Apologize! However, should I have, somehow 'Hit the Proverbial Nail on its Proverbial Head' - then, I shall be Blissful to have been - just Once, in the Shade of Greatness! If you ever find yourself within the confines of Olde Baltimore Towne, WE might thoroughly enjoy some sort of Ecumenical Repast ... Say maybe: a few cups of Java, interspersed with several Shots, chased by Multitudinous Beers! P.S. ... I Do Believe that you mayhaps have 'Coined' several Words in this Fine Treatise on Existential Intelligence ... (or, the Lack thereof) !!! Peace, my Friend, Tom. OH ... 'Happy Mother's Day!'

Momma's Christmas Candy (Short Story) - 2/25/2011 12:38:11 PM
Rockie, what a wonderful, warm and loving tribute to your mom you wrote here. I, too, am sorry for your loss... Spiritually, she will be with you forever and you may hear what she might say from time to time...the fragrance of cloves! definitely a Christmas fragrance...we used to spike oranges with cloves and add cloved to hot wine at Christmastime. Thanks for sharing this... Gina

Momma's Christmas Candy (Short Story) - 1/19/2011 5:51:57 PM
Hi Rockie: I understand where you're coming from when you said of the distinct smell of cloves that reminds you of your momma. I have lost my mother on December 16, 2006. and am still missing her to this date. Everyone carries a certain odor with them and you know it's the person even without seeing them. My mother always had a pleasant odor with her, and I swear to God, sometimes I can feel her presence when I can smell that familiar odor. One time I was in my room visiting my brother keeping him company, and during the night I was awake by my mom's odor and I knew she was there to see me to let me know she was there. Another time was when my sister and her family came from England to see us, and during the time we were all sitting around chatting I could smell the same familiar odor again. It was like a fragrance that only my mother would have carried with her that only belongs to her and we will know her presence whenever we smell that. Your mother is in heaven watching over you, and she's very proud and appreciative of you for this wonderful tribute. A wonderfully-written tribute indeed!! Thanks so much for sharing with us!! Sandie Angel ((((( Hugs )))))

Does God Exist? (Short Story) - 12/23/2010 4:59:56 PM
Rockie, you so hit home for me with: "The reality however of the existence of anything including the entity to which I refer, is only certain and absolute when it becomes personal, just like we know love and hate inside ourselves exist, that is how we know God exists, by personal knowledge that cannot be replaced by anything else." Mine also, was experiential at age 3 and has continued through-out life to where I've yet to doubt. How can I??? I may not have scripture memorized (ADHD) but when the student is ready, the teacher arrives. In tears as I write - so many awesome experiences. You are the 1st as a Christian to write that I've read, responding to the question not by Bible verses, but experience. Thank you, and may rich blessings follow you! kashzka

Momma's Christmas Candy (Short Story) - 11/21/2010 4:19:06 PM
I'm glad you came to this conclusion and found peace, Rockie. I am sorry you lost your mom, though. Some tender memories you shared here, so thank you for that. Hugs, Sheila

The Day the Devil Shed a Tear (Short Story) - 11/17/2010 9:31:27 PM
I must say, I regret this incident for you, but admire your fortitude - to stand for your beliefs in a society of television, movies, etc., that try to teach us just the the opposite. (Just remember they are the frogs who were put in a cod pot of water that was to be boiled). Excellent writing from the soul! blessings, kashzka

Momma's Christmas Candy (Short Story) - 10/22/2010 6:22:17 PM
Starman - I love that name - You just may be a star in Heaven one day. And there you will meet your mom. The two of you figgured it out. She was sending you a message that she was in The City Of Love. Of Course, she is in Jesus' Arms where we all hope to be one day. He is the great lover and He is good and compassionate to forgive our sins if we just believe and repent of past sins. It's as simple as that. We need Faith and Hope now Love we take with us and on that we will be judged for God is Love. Be a flower in the Garden of Love

Momma's Christmas Candy (Short Story) - 10/21/2010 3:29:22 AM

Can a Loving God Exist Considering All of the Suffering in the World? (Article) - 8/11/2010 12:30:39 PM
I'm echoing Regis' comment, Starman..the topic is too complex to address here...perhaps I could say that Nature and the traditional concept of 'God' are at odds... doubtless there is a spiritual world...how to accept it and to fit into it? I haven't discovered it yet. Gina

Ten Rules to Worry Free Computing (Article) - 8/11/2010 12:15:42 PM
oh, Starman! Thanks for your tips! I like the reminder not to go online in between working on a project...you know, Norton once ate up the registry of one of my beloved workhorse PCs..detsroyed it totally...When I write, I back-up and save and also save to floppy after every three or four chapters are in draft... Anyway, working with computers makes typewriters seem like dinosaurs, but we never get out of the PC jungle either. love, gina

Why would technologically advanced civilizations take an interest in mankind and this present world? Surely they could do better, or just out-right take it if they desired. Perhaps there is a hidden link between them and us, or at least with some of the more benevolent beings reportedly contacted. I find your article most interesting and thought-inciting, Rockie. Thank you for sharing your perspectives. Love and peace to you, Regis

Very creative. My partner is in love with Mafia tales. It seems that there are many tales still untold like the one you just conveyed to us. Today it's more lucrative to be a snitch than to be made. Ron

In For Life (Poetry) - 1/20/2013 8:37:52 AM
Ah, organized crime, i.e., the Mafia . . . They're still around, yes, and their code of honor(?) is still duty-bound. From Sicily them came to the Land of Opportunity, and seized it within pasta and garlic hands and hasn't let go to this day. They were idolized in print and movies, their bad guys (weren't they ALL bad?) someone to be admired. Tough, bad-asses all . . . Hey! Gumba, pass da Romano.

Kindling Poetic Fire (Poetry) - 1/19/2013 2:17:19 PM
Points well made, Rockie. Thank you. One ought not to be afraid of "offending" by sharing one's convictions. Sha'Tara (my friend) is an example of this. I'm afraid that I tend to be far more diplomatic most of the time. Thanks. Love and peace, Regis

Mi Pequeno Monstruos (Poetry) - 12/30/2012 1:25:23 PM
Okay, bud. I love it but, being a purist, I must make some minor "adjustments" so the rhymes work: Tampering with DNA from chinchillas, I created little Godzillas; The monsters got loose, They chewed my caboose, Now we're all drunk on agave tequilas. I couldn't resist. Thanks for the smiles, Rockie. Love and peace to you, Regis

Poetry is our claim to fame, Be us wise guys or fantastic dames. And we don't have to make it rhyme, If we write free-style its no crime.

Here and Now, There and Then (Poetry) - 6/13/2012 6:16:50 PM
Geometry or geophysicality aside, people need guns and grenades like they need incurable disease... putting munitions barons permanently out of business, both locally and globally, would go a long way to solving our problems... you've digressed with panache on the entire mish-mash... but instead of trying to unite heaven and earth, keeping them in perspective might better serve our purposes. You are right about living your dreams, except for the fact that so many of them turn into nightmares... selectivity and discernment also serve you well, when putting things into perspective. Provocative piece, professionally penned.

Ron's pea brains is overloaded methinks. If Hussein gets four more years we are dead ducks. He HATES this country and its values.

Here and Now, There and Then (Poetry) - 6/10/2012 12:41:19 PM
My pea brain did not understand nine tenths of what you just wrote, but I sense a level of negativity that just isn't so. We are in a recession that is taking entirely too long to get out of because there are so many opposing viewpoints and very few real solutions. However, if we just do nothing and don't fly off the handle things will continue to get better. They always have in spite of our propensity to fight over everything. People will go on inventing and people go on buying what they're inventing. That will make us happier, but the economy will recover. Ron

Type F for Freedom (Poetry) - 1/31/2012 12:00:29 PM
Seems to me that freedom went awry shortly after WW II and haven't come back since. And whoever tries to work the political machine to get it back, no matter how high they climb, will be shortly overturned by biblethumpin tea-sippers who suffer from a seriously distorted view of reality.
