What about God?
Worship everyday – Many times we gather once a week to sing praises to our Lord and God and to learn His word, His instructions, and to breathe in and let His undying love consume us.
What the heck good is that?
Do you think God is with us just once a week? No!! He’s with us everyday day, not just one hour a week. How would you like it if your mom or dad, grandmother or grandfather, or a close friend gave you just one hour a week, you would feel left out, alone, feeling like you’re not of any worth, wondering, how in the heck can I show them that I am important too? Ever thought about that? Maybe you do think about that now, even though you get more than an hour a week you still feel unappreciated and unworthy, invaluable, secondary to all else that goes on in the world. So think for just a moment how He would feel. How our Lord and God would feel if we just gave Him one hour a week and nothing else. Do you think He wants more of your time? Absolutely. He desires attention just like we do, but we’re too busy for that, I mean geez, He just gave us life after all, the ability to think and use our brains, He provided food for our bodies, the air for our lungs, and this wonderful machine (our bodies) so we can function, but that’s no big deal!! … Or is it?
Read Psalm 100.
How often is it do we go to God to worship to Him and feel like it’s just something I want to get through so I can go do what I want to do? “Fhew good, got that over with. I’ve done my hour; I should be good for the week.” How many have thought of that before? Or do you just worship when we need Him. We’re supposed to shout with joy, with gladness in our hearts, with joyful songs. But, how often do we really do that? We’d rather be doing something else, like playing games, surfing the internet or our lusts, texting, watching football (my favorite by the way, yes, I get caught up in it too) spending money or working for it to purchase secular items to make us happy.
Read Psalm 101:3-5.
So, if you feel that the Lords not with you, you have to ask yourself… why? Maybe it’s because you find too many other things to do, or maybe your affliction is so strong you just have one thing that keeps you from receiving grace and being consumed by His love. Why are we so afraid to let the Lord in? Is it fears…, worry…, guilt…, or are we afraid of what other people are going to think if we do? What if you died tomorrow? I know teens that have died and didn’t know the Lord. They had great burdens on their shoulders just like us and didn’t know the Lord; at least you have an opportunity, right now to know Him. Don’t let the world make the choice for you!! Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, Lord I think you for this beautiful day that you have given me and my friends and family. Lord, you are the true author of life that has broken my heart many times and I think you for that and showing me what I have to do to be more like your Son that gave His life for us. Teach me Lord to NOT be conformed by this world that is outside these doors. To trust in you and worship you, every day with a thankful heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If have time read 1 John 1-10.
