The onslaught comes again, each word biting into the tender flesh left exposed. Words and your voice; but I cannot, I will not accept that you say them. Rising and falling, yet not alive, sinking slowly.
Everything, apparently, has an opposite and equal reaction. Ours, mine, yours, is occurring now. I know that you lie; I know that you do not mean the words you throw at me, I know, I know. Yet you do not. You don’t know it yet, but I do. This advantage of mine offers no comfort.
Ebb and flow, then sink to your knees and beg me to stay. Admit that I am everything that you want, everything you need, and everything to you. The refusal can only hurt so much. Now I am aware of something that had the power to hurt more – the denial.
What did I do to turn your desire into such hate, such bitterness and such disgust? The blood rushes from my head, and for a moment I feel calm, hearing only my heart throbbing in my hollow skull. The blood seeps out through the hole you have carved with your words. As it spreads, it stains my hands, my lips and my mind. We have all told lies and changed our minds, but please don’t justify what you used to deny. The nullification of my head heart and body with three of your words – regret – me – you. Did you even apologise? My reality is you – so what is fantasy? Now, you claim we are.
A body outline next to me, and I know I saw this coming at three hundred miles an hour. You are a corpse I dare to touch. The death of my heart and the death of your mind due to our actions. How can this happen? What have you done? Why does my pain satisfy you? Why do my tears quench your thirst? Now, all I wanted was what I could never keep. I tried. When you get yours I will be satisfied. When you regret those three words, when you regret this, I will be content. When I am what you live for, all you need, what you want, and what you breathe for, then I will be complete. When you have felt what I have felt, then I will be whole.
