It started out to be a five day vacation to Seattle. Being single and unattached a friend had told me Seattle was loaded with single women. He actually had met his wife there. So on the eve of my trip to the Northwest I began to pack for the trip. I did not have enough shaving soap so I decided to go to the country market to purchase some. The market was only three blocks away but I decided to take a short cut through the drainage wash.
It had begun to get dark but there was still enough visibility to walk through the wash so I could make my way through it safely.
I was half way through where the weeds were very tall when I heard a voice call out, hello again my friend. I looked closely and there sitting amongst the tall weeds was the big cat.
I never thought it was strange or imaginary that I could hear Big Cat talking to me. However I never did tell anyone of my first meeting with the Big Cat. He was sitting very close to a large boulder so I sat down on the rock and responded to him verbally. I am fine I told the Big Cat. I said do you have a name? He said yes, my Mother named me Smilodon after my great Grand Father. I replied what an honorary name. was he really a Saber tooth? Smilodon replied yes he also was the last of his kind.
Smilodon said he was and still is my hero. He protected the innocent from the claws of the devil. He also said he was created by the mighty one to be the protector of the children. He continued to talk as I listened fervently.
I would like it if you would assist me. How so I asked. By just being my friend the Big Cat replied. You do not have to worry I will take care of the Rattlers, Coyotes, and the devious of the devil.
I said Smilodon I will gladly help you control the evil ones but it will have to be done secretly.
Yes of course Smilodon said, as you know he continued to say I am considered a legend. Those of the evil used to use this wash as abusers of children, raping others of there own kind too. No longer is this happening here. But I can use the help of a human to police areas where I cannot be. I said yes I will do that but where do I start?
In the early morning hours he said when it is very quiet in the streets, the unlit parking lots, and those who attempt to drive while they are drunk with fire water in there belly's. I
was totally convinced the large feline was a champion of justice. So we parted ways after smilodon actually raised his big paw and gently touched my face. He was remarkable I thought as I reversed my steps back to my home. I also canceled my trip to Seattle. And sat on my recliner and dozed off happy, and knowing I had just been with the feline Saint Michael.
