“Sweet Aroma”
Oh my very sweet aroma. Divine presence you are to me. You Oh mighty Lord are my refuge and my strength. The sweetness of thy presence in my life delights my soul. In You I find comfort, and an unending leading onward. Your names are so many. Today I feel Your name in my heart as divine sweetness, awesome aroma. In difficulties of life I can just breathe in and smell the fragrance of my help. The travailing winds thrash at the doors of my house. I shall not faint or be weary. You cause me to breathe in Your love, and give to me great strength with courage amidst the storms. I shall love You always. I claim You as my great prize. Let my life be a sweet aroma in the nostrils of God.
As I have said so many times before Lord, “All I Have In My Possession To Give You Is My Thanks And Praise”. Your Word says that a gift is a fragrance. Acceptable and well pleasing to God. Victoriously I climb onward. There is a great aroma, which is a sweet pleasing scent in the air. A newness and an openness to Your ways. You Oh Lord control all that is. I am allowed to take control of my feelings in You and search out Your goodness for me. I do so wish to please You in all that I do.
Spring is now knocking at the door of winter’s end. There is a freshness in the air. Lily of the valley sprouting to give scent to Your creation. Honeysuckle preparing to capture the multitudes of bees obsessed with the aroma. So many changes waiting to burst forth in splendor. The birds are singing praises unto You. Melodiously they chirp and begin to start anew as spring buds forth. There is newness all around and the scent of fresh rain waiting to bathe Your creation. Your creation signs praises to You the Lord Most High. You are omnipresent, and I see You in all that You have created. One must take time, and make time to feel and smell the presence, the sweet aromas You give as a gift. There is healing in taking time to enjoy and delight in the goodness of the Lord. Refreshment to the soul and spirit, and delightful to the heart is the very essence of this sweet aroma.
I shall delight in Your ways. I shall find fulfillment and repose under Your wings. I wish to receive more of Your blessing. I love You and feel Your presence in my life. When I am lost and weary, I lean on You for nourishment. I surrender all I have to You. Sometimes through Your creation; You lead me to higher ground. I smell the sweetness an aroma of God in everything I encounter. In my mind I search Your ways by Your good Word and what I see of You in Your world. I long to always put You first. In the burning of the sweet aroma of incense, I send up my thoughts and praises to You. I send them up to the throne of You the Father. I know dear Lord that You are always with me. You live in me since I said "YES", to Your Son, Jesus. You just well up in me rivers of living water overflowing to eternal life as You said. "Well up in me Lord. Bless my life, and never turn Your face from me. Let me always smell pleasing to You Dear Lord. "
Even as I write the rest of the world goes on. Adversities, illnesses, damaged emotions, are all around. There is no place to hide except for in Thee. Because of our fellowship You said that nothing would by no means harm me. In You Lord, there is true peace and comfort. I must stay a while longer in the aroma and the warmth of Thy sweet presence. Is there time today for more renewal? I say; “Yes”, I will make time. For You are my savior and my deliverer. You are sweeter than the honey that the bees are so busy about. There is greatness in Your presence. Just smell the goodness of the Lord. You give us five senses to enjoy Your world with Oh Lord. One is smell. With this gift we can discern foul from sweet. Foul brings discomfort and sweet brings comfort and ease. Thank You Lord for the gift of smell. You are a sweet perfume, a costly ointment. With sweet aroma of God it is so nice to linger with You in Your presence. I shall sit a while longer; making sure the perfume of God is still in my nostrils when I leave our secret place. You will be ever upon my lips and my heart will be a total surrender to You.
My praise is as incense to the Lord. Oh sweet burning incense, rise upward to the love of my life. It is He that sets my feet on solid ground. I must adore Him, as He is necessary to my existence as air to breathe. He assures me of direction in life, and it is only He that I desire to totally trust in. Oh my Lord, my sweet aroma divine, I refresh myself in You. Be ever present in my life. In all willingness I give myself unto Thee. May my ever-steadfast thoughts be always upward to Thee? Though winds may blow, and adversity may come, I will set my constant hope on Thee. In my life there shall always be incense burning on the altar for the Lord God. Praises seem to fall so short of what He is worthy of. But it is all that we have, that when mixed with faith is a fragrance pleasing to Him. Amen, So be it.
