A team of hunters attempt to hunt down Billy Lawson after he is taken to hospital.

May 1958
The fire alarm waking him up, Billy heard the door to the room opening and he opened his eyes to stare at the nurse entering.
She smiled as she approached the bed where he was lying, “I’ve got to ask if you mind coming with me down to the ground floor, we’re evacuating everyone we can.”
As soon as she got closer, Billy surged forward from the bed, spun her round and slammed her down onto the mattress.
Forcing her head to one side, he torn at the top of her uniform to expose more of her throat and lunged down, ripping into the soft flesh with his lengthening fangs.
Standing outside the main entrance to the hospital, John Silverstone waited until Pamela Twain nodded from just inside the hospital lobby.
He glanced at the other two members of his team, “Let’s go.”
Carrying two metal cases each, Adam Forest and Gordon Jasper entered through the doors, following John towards where Pamela was standing.
She watched Adam and Gordon place the cases on the floor, “The suspect Strigoi is in room 239.”
Removing a loaded crossbow from one of the cases, John glanced at each member of his team. “We do this by the book, I don’t want anyone trying to be a hero.”
Heading straight up to the third floor, John led the way towards the room where Billy had been taken. Stopping by the closed door, he reached for the handle and turned it.
Ready to shoot the crossbow, he pushed the door open, searching for his target.
Stepping inside the empty room, he glanced at the bed and saw the blood. Glancing back as the others entered behind him, he nodded towards the blood. “He’s taken a victim.” He paused, formulating a new plan of action. “There’s still a couple of hours before dawn. Pam, you go with Gordon. Start on the top floor and start working your way down. Me and Adam will check out the basement and move our way up. Hopefully we’ll trap the target between us.”
Returning to the stairs, Pamela and Gordon started going up to the top floor of the hospital. Reaching the main corridor of the fifth floor, the pair of them began checking each of the doors.
Pamela came to an abrupt stop when the lights went dark. “That’s all we need.”
The sound of a door clicking shut made her begin to run forward.
A blur of white slammed into Gordon and pinned him to the floor behind Pamela.
She turned and was just able to see enough to make out a nurse ripping into Gordon’s throat.
Pamela raised the crossbow, hesitating for a moment too long when she heard a door opening behind her.
Hearing Pamela’s screams coming from several floors above them, John and Adam began rushing back up. Stopping at the top of the stairs, they both saw the nurse still feeding from the side of Gordon’s neck.
Running forward to get a clear shot, John raised the crossbow and fired, the bolt slamming into the back of the nurse’s shoulder.
She turned, snarling like a wild animal and showing her bloodied fangs.
Adam released the bolt from his crossbow, the tip ripping through the nurse’s flesh as she fell, blood gushing from the wound.
Taking their time approaching her unmoving body, John and Adam exchanged concerned glances.
Removing a machete from under his jacket, Adam wasted no time in cutting off Gordon’s head to stop any possibility of him turning.
His attention focused on making sure the nurse was destroyed, John failed to notice Billy approaching Adam.
Billy took hold of Adam’s head and snapped his neck in an instant, letting the body fall next to the Gordon’s headless corpse.
The dull thud of Adam’s body hitting the floor made John begin to turn.
Slamming into John hard, Billy tried getting close enough for his fangs to connect with John’s flesh.
Managing to pull his leg back, John pressed the boot against Billy’s chest and catapulted him away. Grabbing the machete that Adam had used, he scrambled to his feet and began to advance towards where Billy had landed.
The familiar voice behind him made him stop his advance. He felt Pamela’s hands on both his shoulders as he closed his eyes, swinging the machete as he turned.
She screamed as the blade sliced through her throat, her body crumpling to the ground as her head smashed into the wall.
Seeing Pamela fall and John turn back towards him, Billy set off running towards the large window at the far end of the corridor.
Leaping as he reached the window, he smashed through the glass and began to fall.
Racing down the stairs, John burst through the doors and rushed to the spot where Billy had landed, cursing when he saw the empty concrete.
