The Einstein Man: Chapter Four

All of a sudden Einstein looked around toward the door saying: Uh, oh, we got company.”

Helen looked around and did not see anything.

“What do you mean… “she began but before she could finish the sentence he had put his arms around her, saying:

“Hold on, we have to move fast.”

Helen was almost blinded by a sudden flash of light and she involuntarily closed her eyes and felt his arms tighten around her waist and felt herself and him literally being lifted and falling into something like a void.

The light was now ahead of them and both fell toward it, slowing eventually, starting to lose speed as they approached it.

The light suddenly merged with them and she blacked out for what felt like hours, coming to sitting in a chair with him standing above her asking:

“Are you alright, Are you ok?”

She didn’t answer her eyes were trying to focus on him and the room behind him which was filled with blinking lights and what to Helen looked liked floating images, floating in mid air.

He was saying:

“Sorry, I had to move quickly. They would have taken you and things would have gotten rough. You are better off with me.”

Helen stared at him and her first impulse was to run. Her first thought was that Randy Einstein had drugged her drink and she had been kidnapped and was being held somewhere in a mad scientist laboratory, if that was what it was.

She looked into his eyes seeking clues.

He sensed her alarm.

“It ok, he said, you are safe. Why are you staring? What is it?

“I am staring.” Helen said “because you drugged me, and kidnapped me!”

She shouted at him, now angry, and instinctively kicked upward with her knee and landed a solid blow to his groin. He grimaced and reached down to protect himself and with that she bolted toward the door leaving him behind bent over falling to his knees.

She raced forward looking at the floating images around her and placed her hand on the door knob and pulled hard to get it to open.

It opened on her second strong pull and a great whoosh of air rushed into the room and a great light.

She blinked blinded again into the light and looked out onto an utter emptiness.

There was absolutely nothing outside that door, nothing but a blank whiteness.

She heard his voice behind her startling her.

“We have force field protecting us. They have your brain pattern now and they’ll be after you as well.”

To be continued.
