Yes, it was him, her faithful companion. Tall, handsome, neatly dressed, he held a beautiful bouquet and a cute little box with a bow.

He kissed her hand, and in one quick movement he took her up into his arms.

He carried her into the living room, and tenderly put her on the sofa.

"Rest, my beauty," he whispered, fondly kissing her ear.

He went to the kitchen, and very soon an elegant dinner was being served in her salon.

"How was your day, my darling?" he asked, seating himself near to her.

He was all attention, listening patiently, and from time to time he nodded.

When she finished, he took the dirty dishes away, and served dessert. He lit candles and a fire in the fireplace, and her favorite music sounded in the room.

Then he sat on the couch and stared at her in adoration.

Dora slowly got up and went... no, not to him.

She went to the corridor and lifted down the axe. She grimaced. It was not her first time, and she handled her weapon skillfully.

She entered the salon again and met his gaze. He was beaming.

The smile was still on his lips when she neared and, gasping, smashed his head. He collapsed and, grinning, she lifted and lowered the axe, lifted and lowered, chopping him into the smallest pieces.

Her expression dulled. Dora was too tired.

She cleaned the mess; washing out the blood and picking up all the gears, cogs, and wires.

She went to her computer and opened the program on which she had been working.

Next time she programmed a cyborg she would try to make him less boring.
