Where Are You Prince Charming?

Why can't I find you and does that magical world exist.

From little on many girls have visions of finding that special man and of course charming you dream him to be.

However, as my life did not turn out that way as I am sure all knows.

I always held onto that strongest hope and such a dream of one day they just might come true .

Although there would become many struggles and such heartache along my path of reaching that magical world one day that I honestly believed existed and possibly could.

Of course my family had always reminded me that life is not a fairy tale and to stop dreaming of something that can never be.

To me those happily ever after stories do give hope and let us know a brighter side may lie ahead.

When your whole life has been constant sorrow and seems as if all hope is gone what is so wrong with believing that one day all this will become water under the bridge.

Furthermore, I want it all buried under that bridge.

Therefore, I kept the faith and always thought one day that ship would come in.

Although it has now been many years as I held onto such a big dream firmly.

However, through the hard years can take a lot out of a person and many times they start to feel that all the wishing and hoping for that magical place one day is truly a foolish dream and not reality or how the real world works.

With betrayal, cheating, lying, rape, abuse, foreclosures, unemployment, hunger centers, hurt and so on endless.

Now to me the magical world does sound much better and safe from all this daily destruction.

Furthermore, the holidays are fast approaching once again and Christmas time just has always seemed so magical and splendid in everyway.

But sad to say it has always seem to be the hardest in many ways.

Sure a happy face becomes painted, as you give the kids joy and deep inside your heart is breaking, as it is another year with no relief in site. Since you struggled your hardest to make sure those children woke up with true happiness.

While you now worry, oh no the bills might just be cut as one fought to spread holiday cheer.

Furthermore, I do not want to be a doom of gloom all my life and as the new year rings in, all it has ever brought was the same year as before without nothing new and it's like history repeated itself another year through.

However there is always reason to never ever give up on believing and knowing that just perhaps one day and yes maybe far away at the moment.

While you continue to climb the steepest mountain and give your all that eventually you will reach the top.

Of course downfalls happen and always will but that just makes one try even harder.

Therefore, I have realized through it all that no matter what one day that magical world will come my way as I finally reached the top of that highest mountain.

Where dreams do come true , as I always knew.

Furthermore, now standing on that hill and shouting aloud, “Where are you prince charming why can’t I ever just find you?

Suddenly you see the long road ahead and exhausted you are at this point

However, you have come thus far and made it to this certain point, as you cannot stop now.

Honestly that would be like falling off the mountain that you worked so hard at reaching the top for.

Therefore, full speed ahead as it truly sparkles just like emerald city, as you are determined for heartache to go away.

Instantly you pause and stare up at such a mansion on a hill and nervously you approach the golden gate as your heart flutters.

Quietly saying, “Where are you prince charming sure hope you answer the door?

Suddenly snow starts falling, and truly mystical it becomes, as you now reached the front doors.

Nervously your whole life flashes before you at this point and knew it was all up to you to completely change it around.

However, you have sudden doubt of rejection and such fear of being hurt all over again as the snowfalls harder it becomes harder to knock on the door.

Since you think what if nothing changes and it’s the same as I have lived before, constant hurt and pain of being betrayed by the one you have loved.

Standing there freezing at this point you realize what is worse than never growing old with someone happily, just perhaps and not everyone is the bad person just since two had come my way.

There is a saying third time is the charm and has been such a dream long awaited.

When I rung the doorbell and my knees nervously rattled as a sweet little elderly woman comes to the door and not what I had vision.

I ask eagerly “Where is prince charming?

The response was defiantly not what I wanted or dreamed.

Smiling, she said, “He just rode off happily with his princess”, and I cried saying, “No he cannot I prayed all my life for he!

Sadly now she said, “Oh you poor dear, I am so sorry, your to late!

At that moment I just crumbled to the step as the big door closed I sobbed saying “No it is never too late to finally find the love of a lifetime!

Therefore, as another holiday season comes I will certainly wish upon the brightest star in the sky that night and as the ball drops New Years Eve I still believe!

Laura:

This was a very inspiring piece, and there's so much truth in this. I, for one, will always dream and keep hope alive.

I think it is good that you don't give up on your dreams, Laura Lee. I wish for you that they come true with love and my best sentiments,
