Evaluation Review of the book, “The Weakness of God”
By Frederick L. Cuthbertson
This is a lovely, well-written book that examines the everyday relationship of God with man which is shown through many familiar personalities from the Bible and through a look at how Jesus Christ himself interacted with others while in this human realm.
Elder Cuthbertson presents the humanity of Jesus and the unpredictability of God. He points to an ultimately more spiritual look at what the Bible presents rather than a more rigid interpretation. As he says here, the rigid rejecting outlook came from those who purported to be most devout in their worship of God rather than the ordinary people, who were less educated and more open.
God in the form of Jesus was vulnerable because he was, indeed, a real man as well as the ultimate divine.
The book is of a very elevating nature and will prove to be of spiritual benefit to those who are able to read and hear. The author has a very sophisticated yet traditionally biblical point of view and the book will certainly be of inspirational value to many.
