A little girl and her animal friends

Once upon a time in a small English village, there lived a little girl named Sarah, who loved nature and all the animals of the forest. Sarah was a shy little girl that kept mainly to herself and only socializing when she was made to by her wicked step-mother. One day while Sarah was in the forest talking to her animal friends; she hears a strange sound coming from the trees. Screeeeeeeech, Screeeeeeeeeeeeech. What can that be thought Sarah? Sarah began to look for the strange sound coming from the trees, when all at once a voice cries out “who goes there? Sarah, Sarah of rottingham. Who might you be? My name is Screech and you are standing in my house. “I’m sorry” Sarah exclaimed. I didn’t mean to trespass on your property. As the voice swooped down from the tops of the trees, Sarah could see that it was a tiny owl. Why you are an owl. Yes I’m an owl and also the king’s front guardsman. Oh I see who might the king be?

Who might the king be? Why he is (stuttering a bit) the king, that who he is. Sarah sneakers a bit. Can you take me to see the king? I would so love to meet his majesty. Take you to meet his majesty! Are you kidding me his majesty doesn’t see anyone unless they have an appointment. Can you get me an appointment then? Ask Sarah. Can I get you an appoint? (Laughing and snorting) Ur ah Ur yes. As Sarah and her new found friend begin to journey deeper into the forest; Sarah notices that the owl has flown way ahead of her leaving her to the sounds and smells of the forest. The wind begin to blow softly through the tree tops making a whispering sound and Sarah swore should could hear someone calling her name. (Sarahhhh).

Sarah hurried a long to catch up with the owl that had left her behind. (Sarahhhhh) the wind whispered. Sarah ran as fast as she could heading for a big oak in the middle of the forest. As Sarah got close to the big oak, down swooped screech (where have you been?) Sarah screams you scared me. Come a long it’s getting late and his majesty doesn’t see anyone after dinner. (Exclaims Screech). So the two of them hurry off in the evening to reach the king’s castle before the sun went down. As they rounded a dead tree that had fallen across the forest floor, stay here (exclaimed Screech). In a few minutes Screech returns and said: The king will see you now. Screech flew a long towards a big acorn tree and Sarah followed. This was the biggest tree Sarah has ever seen and it was certainly the biggest tree in the forest. At the base of the tree was a large hole that seemed to go upward in the center of the tree. Screech flew up into the hole, Sarah stopped at the base of the tree and looking bewildered. Screech popped his head out of the hole and said “Come a long, come a long”. Now Sarah had done some crazy things before, but going into a hole in the tree? After a few minutes of hesitation, Sarah entered the hole and started upwards towards the center.

After reaching the center of the big tree, Sarah could hardly believe her eyes. There in the center of the tree was a door and inside the door was a big room; A room so large it could hold her whole house. There was table and chairs for dinning and cabinets, furniture, lamps and a huge rug that lead down a hallway. Sarah continued to follow screech to the end of the hallway where they entered a second door. When they open the door a loud trumped blasted with a royal sound. Sarah looked to see where the sound was coming from. There in the corner of the room was a frog blowing away on the trumped. As they got closer to the kings thrown Sarah could see what appeared to be two vultures on either side of the thrown wearing armor and holding staffs with flags hanging from them. And sitting on the thrown was a furry little creature wearing a crown. What type of little creature could this be (thought Sarah)? As Sarah got closer she realized that the small little creature was a squirrel. Come closer child!!! What brings you to my kingdom?  Exclaimed the squirrel. Sarah bawls to be polite; I come to learn from the forest and the many animals that dwell here your majesty. What is your name child? Sarah your majesty, Sarah of Rottingham. I’m king fuzzytail Sarah, you may call me your majesty. So what type of knowledge do you seek from the forest Sarah? I only want the knowledge of that which all living creature wants your majesty. And that is peace and harmony with all living things.

There’s no knowledge to be given Sarah, those things that you seek are not learn, but dwell in all living things. You must search your heart to find the things who seek young Sarah. For it is there that lies the knowledge of harmony and peace. Now go and search you heart for those things. Sarah bawls and says thank you your majesty. Screech leads Sarah back through room and out of the tree. “I hope you find what you are looking for Sarah?” states Screech. I’m sure I have all ready founded it Screech. It was there all along and I didn’t realize it until I met the king. I will lead you back to the edge of the forest Sarah. “Thanks Screech”

(says Sarah) and they set off to find the edge of the forest.

And so it goes that Sarah did find the peace and harmony within herself and realizing that not everything is always learned from someone else, but merely exist within each of us. We just need to search our own thoughts and feelings to uncover some of the hidden artifacts that lie beneath the skin. With every new day comes a new challenge and questions that people will have to face and deal with. Looking within ourselves may hold the key to unlock the answers we seek.
