It’s In Your Mind
Have you ever wondered why you had a sudden thought about something that was against everything that you believed in? Have you ever thought about wanting something so bad that you start feeling that you need it and then your feelings tells you that you got to have it then you all of sudden you feel like you love it so much that you just can’t be without? That’s because the way you think can speak to your feelings and your feelings speaks to the heart.
I’d learned that when God speaks He doesn’t leave you confused nor will He speak anything to you that is not connected to His Word. Be consistent with asking God to renew your mind and be cautious as to what you let flow through your mind and who you let speak into you. Everybody isn’t right with God and He doesn’t always speak to those who claim He does. The devil causes trouble on every side and if he can’t get to your heart he definitely tries to get to your mind and if he gets to your mind he will consistently wreak havoc and speak sinful things into it. The mind is so powerful that the Word says that it is with the mind that we serve the Lord. That’s why the enemy battles with you inside your mind. All he has to do is chain your mind too keep you bound with unvarying worry, tension, provocation, low self-esteem and hostility. He can make you so physically sick, because the sickness in your mind. It’s the devils job to cause separation between God’s people. 1 Peter five versus eight warns us to “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” The devil don’t stop his job that’s why you have to constantly pray and keep God on your speed dial.
Don’t give the devil in leverage. As soon as he see’s even the smallest unoccupied space within you he will try to take its vacancy. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Spiritual transformation starts in the mind and heart. A mind that is dedicated to the world and its concerns will produce a life tossed back and forth by the currents of the world and our culture. But a mind dedicated to God’s truth will produce a life that can stand the test of time. We can resist the temptations of our culture by meditating on God’s truth and letting the Holy Spirit guide and shape our thoughts and behaviors (Romans 12:2 Amplified). In T.D. Jakes sermon titled “Free Your Mind”, he explains the verse by saying, “Don’t shape yourself around the comings and goings of this world. Don’t shape your opinions and attitudes around circumstances that you cannot change. Don’t build your identity around worldliness.” Be ye transformed— this means to put on another form put away your old self, change your sinful nature to righteous behavior. By the renewing—change how you view things and the way you feel. If you can get your mind out of those chains. If you can get your mind out you can get your health, your prosperity, you can get everything that devil held captive out. If only you can break those chains no devil in hell would be able to stop you from staying free. No weapon. No weapon. Jump out head first and everything that is connected to your head will follow.
Cast that devil down and let him no that you have no room for the stupidity. Oh, the devil is a persistent thing, if he sense a hint of unbelief in he will keep going. You have to speak the Word to him with authority. Look at how many times he tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, but Jesus constantly threw the Word at Him until he eventually gave up and fled, but that didn’t stop him from finding a way to get to Jesus. The devil jumped into Judas Iscariot and cause Judas to betray God for thirty pieces of silver, but Jesus still got the victory in the end. The devil still couldn’t touch him. Again, if you can change your mind, you can change your life. Some of us are so far behind time in our mind that it’s clear why you feel defeated. The reason you’re dealing with any defeat in your life because you haven’t linked up your mind with your heart. You have the authority to speak to your feelings, tell your feelings how to feel. Retrain your mind on how to think. In the King James Version of the Bible it says, “whatsoever things are true , whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
You have the authority to speak life unto you. I tell myself every morning that I wake up, this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice in be glad in it. I am going to be happy today… I want let nobody steal my joy today, because I will not have the pleasure or the time to entertain in their idiocy… the devil will not and cannot have the luxury of getting on my nerves. So as a man thinketh so is he. So I say to myself, Kezia, honey, you are blessed beyond measures… you are healthy, you are smart, you love yourself and you are loved… You are highly favored because God said so and it is proven since the devil is trying so hard to get at you. He said that I was the head and not the tail and I was His child in I have a place in His kingdom; therefore I am royalty. I have peace and can’t anybody take it. I reign in victory. What I’m going through is not as bad as what I could be going through. Speak into your circumstances, speak into your situation. Believe in what thus says the Lord and know what God can do.
