Television…a vast place to watch death and destruction, the perilous massacres and bombings, the ever-increasing rash of children disappearing, stories upon stories that keep racing from one horror to the next. “Nobody ever learns” Michele thinks “as these atrocities are repeated over and over again”. It's hard to imagine that this was all but a lifetime ago…
…Then one day without warning, it happened, the sky bombings began. Although it was so very far off in the distance, the cold night sky looked as if it were a non-stop meteor shower. One could merely look into the night sky (and given another time) make many wishes on what appeared as falling stars. This was actually the sight of the hundred or so rockets soaring in the air “…And the rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air” came to Michele's mind as she remembered the war to end all wars. Tears came to her eyes as she recalled how her ordinary life had been. And where she was when it all began.
