This short story is about Leo Piller, who is a caterpillar.

Leo Piller is a caterpillar. He loves to eat leaves all the time. He enjoys the days just inching along from place to place. Leo is an orange caterpillar with fuzzy hair around his body.

One day Leo woke up and was hungry. Now this isn't unusual but today was different. Leo ate his breakfast and was still hungry. He crawled a bit and then would stop and eat some more. He did this until the afternoon time when Leo felt sleepy. Up until now the only time Leo would fall asleep was when the sun was setting. Leo decided to take a nap and curled up in his cocoon.

Waking up, Leo was a little surprise to see the sun was starting to rise. He didn't know that he had slept through the day and night. Stepping out of his cocoon Leo started to head for his favorite leaves, but they didn't seem all that good-looking. So he walked for a while and saw a bright yellow flower. Going over to it Leo's tummy started to rumble. As Leo went to take a bite, he found out that his tongue would stick out. Just then a butterfly came fluttering down next to him and stuck her tongue into the flower. Afterwards she looked at Leo and told him that now he had to eat with his tongue.

Once the other butterfly had left, Leo saw a pond and decided to look at himself. When he got to the pond Leo leaned over and was shocked at what he saw. He saw that he was no longer an orange, fuzzy caterpillar but a big beautiful butterfly. Leo now doesn't have to walk everywhere, instead he flies. So Leo the butterfly, enjoys his days flying from flower to flower helping to pollinating and eating.
