Someone with a new computer becomes addicted to the Search Options on the Internet.

KEY WORDS by Tony Thorne MBE

My hobby after I got a computer, before they took it away and put me in here all those months ago, was to enter various Key Words into my Internet Server Search engine and then press the [Go] key to see what came up. What did was really fascinating. I would select the first interesting looking link and explore where that went, and then another, and another. I just kept going, on and on, and I admit it did become addictive.

I eventually got through all the listed Keywords I found, and the results added quite a lot of information to my education. Eventually I started on words that I got from newspapers, or anywhere ... mostly people’s names.

It got to be very interesting and I spent a lot of time doing it. Then early one morning, after a late night session on my computer and well before breakfast, several big cars and vans roared along our road and stopped outside my house. Lots of policemen and soldiers got out, armed with machine guns, and then dropped out of sight behind my garden walls.

I listened intently to some instructions from a very loud mechanical sounding voice, and soon decided against arguing. Then with my hands ready to raise high above my head, I cautiously went to the front door and opened it.

The important thing I remember ruefully thinking at the time and often here since, was that perhaps it had been a mistake to enter “Al Quaeda” as keywords, or perhaps it was “Bin Laden.”.

Oh Tony!! How bizarre!!! It goes to show ... big brother is watching! Let us entertain ourselves and others with words of freedom .. BB isn't interested in that!!
Thankfully you have the freedom to write even this!!

Great story! Enjoyed it very much! We probably will be giggling hours from now. For the time being maybe you should try keywords like Santa Claus, Elves, Pooh bear, etc., they seem less dangerous. Best wishes, Birgit and Roger
