I have read up to chapter 3 and will (inhsha'allah) get to chapter 4 tomorrow. The scene with the woman in white is extremely powerful and I would recommend the thread to be taken up in a later chapter as the fabric of a story is like that of a rug. Every string must be connected to the other and to all strings in all. No motive must be wasted. Equally, the spoken word must be guarded like water at the time of draught. No drop must be spilled in vain. I don't need to emphasise your art of writing in which the spoken word, the thought, the dream live and unfold their potential in a caleidscope of deep-riching visions with a vibrant, throbbing, living heart. This novel must be great, it must be made perfect in every detail and aspect of it as it touches ground not touched by many.
(I will also say that the spiritual world is not frightening [it is only to the one who does not know it]. Let the boy enter it and he will be at home in it.)

Thank God things are starting to shape up for The Boy, he's been through too much hell for one lifetime. Quite an insight on how faith in God is tested during hard times. You have introduced the character so well that it feels as if I know him. I am anxious to know how he ends up.Great write Sista!

You are building up the characterof the protagonist extremely vividly. I completely agree with Jerry. There is optimism and faith in spite of all that he endures.

You are a skilled story teller , Sandra....on to the next chapter...

The thing about this chapter is optimism. Yes, the boy went through hell, from an early age, and yes, the cards seemed to be stacked against him, and YES! he should have been thinking he was less than the dirt he walked on . . . But I never got that impression from your absolute fantastic writing. You kept his spirit, while maybe not "up" all the time, at least they were not down on himself and when he could find a place of clear-running water and lush green grass for his bed, the expansive sky as a backdrop to his dreams, he could entertain the notion that there really was a God . . . After all. This is good.

With each chapter we fall in love more and more with that boy, who is so easy to please and never minds to work so hard. A beautiful chapter, it read like a little vacation!

Well my boy is slowly but systematically turning poison into medicine. Lessons for humanity here. What's with the white sheeted zombie at the stroke of dawn? Sandie you are frightening me! Again, great stuff.

Sandi, this little guy has wedged a place for himself under my brestbone, right next to my heart. I was relieved to see him finally getting some food and a place to sleep out of the sun and rain. In every society on earth, the ones who are different are ostracized. It's an unfortunate and sad truth. Can't wait to read more. Elizabeth
