Information about choosing childcare.

In today's society parents hava a need to choose a child care provider or nursery school. There are many options-but the most important thing to consider is what is best for your child?
In my earlier years I was the owner of a day care home, nursery school and day care center. I want to point out -that I feel the best choice for a child is to be at home with one parent. Children need one on one attention and love. They need wisdom and guidance from their parents.
If you must choose childcare-then I would like to share these things to consider when choosing a place to leave your child. First, you must choose the setting that is most suitable for your child and is within your budget.
A day care home is usually located in the caregivers home. In most states this requires a license or permit. The number of children cared for will vary and depends on the state guidelines. This is usually cheaper in cost and allows the children to be in a home like atmosphere. A day care home can be a loving and caring enviorment for your child.
Here are some questions to ask when choosing childcare: 1. How long have they been caring for children? 2. Ask for references 3.Schedule a time for a visit 4.Observe the children-Do the children interact on a caring basis with the caregiver (there should be no fear) 5.Does there seem to be enough individual attention for each child? 6.How are children disciplined? 7. What kind of meals and snacks are served? 8. Are there pets in the house? 9.Where do the children nap and are clean sheets and blankets provided for each child? 10. Who supervises children while meals are cooked? 11. Where is the play area inside and out? Are the toys safe and up to date? Are there enough toys for the number of children enrolled.
If you choose wisely-day care can be a positive experience for you and your child.
