Terri Schiavo - Now an Angel Of God
By Christine D Patterson
Thursday, March 31, 2005

Rated "G" by the Author.

I was always taught, there are two sides to every story. But in this case we all lost.

A shadow is hanging over America right now. We have broken one of the commandments, “Thou shall not kill," but we starved this woman to death. When a prisoner goes to death row and their time is near to go to the gas chambers, do we starve them until it is time for them to walk down the halls of death? No! We give them their last meal before they die. What right did we have to play God? If it was meant for Terri to die, she would have not survived at all that night in February.

Michael and Terri Schiavo had been married for six years before all of this happened. Now let’s go back to that fatal February night. Michael says, and I quote: “I came in late, Terri woke up and gave me a kiss good night,' “she told me that she loved me” and we both went to sleep?

Now remember, they had been married for six years already. Any red blooded American woman would not kiss their husband good night, tell him that she loved him, and just go to bed when he came home late. Michael Schiavo is telling America that his wife did not care if he came in late? I don’t believe that, and if anybody believes that statement then there is something wrong.

Hours later Michael says, “I awoke and found Terri on the floor." So what he is saying is that they both went to bed so peaceful, with him coming home late, that he never heard her get out of bed and fall on the floor. How many hours was it before he so called woke up to call the paramedics? Something is wrong here also. When paramedics came, Terri was not breathing. How long was she not breathing? We will never know; only God and Michael knows that answer. Also the paramedics told Michael that she would not survive? Did any one ever check her blood that night at the Hospital? There is a lot of questions that have not been answered.

Later as the years went by, Michael says; he remembers their conversations that Terri and him had. Saying that Terri had said;

“I would not want to stay alive like this.” I would not want to be a burden.” He never mentioned it at the hospital when she first went in, and he knew that she would be in a vegetated state for the rest of her life. Why wait fifteen years, and then starve her to death?

What gave him the right to starve her like he did? Only his word of mouth, that she wanted it that way. What is missing here? Terri’s parents had every right to have their daughter back, her mother gave her life. What right did her husband have when he already had another woman and two children by her. What was he so afraid of by letting her parents have back so they could take of her, even though she would not be the same anymore? At least she would have the love from her parent that gave her life in the first place.

How could we sit and watch this Angel starve to death? We are no better then a wild animal waiting for the kill, and that is what we have done. It is not about the will. It is not about who was telling the truth, because there are lies all around this whole story. Michael didn’t even let her siblings in when she passed away. Now that says a lot right there about Michael.

It is what we as human beings have done. We starve this poor woman to death for thirteen days. Where are the Morals in our souls right now? I hope that everyone can sleep tonight, knowing what we did was wrong. She still had the breath of life in her, she still was a human being. Now she is an Angel looking down at the wrong that we have done. God is watching this story and I hope that we all can forgive ourselves.

A shadow is hanging over America right now.

Looking back on the Terri Schiavo story, the highly controversial issue remains in our hearts. Perhaps the head Angel has made Terri Heaven's Dietician and Terri is now nourishing good souls. You've asked many relevant questions and although we don't know many of the answers, stories like Terri Schiavo - Now an Angel of God lets us, your readers, reflect on a wrong and hopefully, there can be forgiveness at this point...thank you for sharing this with us, Christine...

It's good that you get your feelings out on paper. Although I changed my mind about this case after hearing the autopsy report, I respect your opinion. A friend's sister once did the same thing to her body with an eating disorder. Very sad situation and difficult for everyone. Sometimes it's sad sometimes that science has come so far, forcing us to make the choices that God used to make before all the machines...

What's next: Killing off disabled people?? That is exactly what Michael did, and he denied her any therapy; that is why she was in the sorry shape she was in. I say, let's hang the jerk; or charge him with the murder of his wife! God help us all, but especially the disabled who can't defend themselves....sad...

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears <

I wonder if she had an insurance policy??
Definately reeks of rat like behaviour, and as for the Judge that condescended to pass the death sentence upon her, may his chickens turn into emu's and kick his dunny door in, while he sitteth upon the throne of his crapper.
SOB is the only three letter word that comes to mind right now, that isnt too rude to post in here.
TY for bringing this to light, but I fear now the pilot has been lit, there will be a crucible coming.

I applaud you for asking these questions and yes he violated many things and I do understand why he was not brought up on those charges. But then we have a judge that adhered to his wishes. I think the end of her life does in fact say a lot about him. The live in girlfreind is forewarned now what will happen to her if she marries him.
