It's that time of year again

Ok it's that time of year again.  Let me introduce my panel of esteemed colleagues just like the people we had last year. Moi of course your favorite struggling actress who moonlights as a waitress, Biff my on again off again boyfriend, Alocki my alien friend from Zatoris, and Mr Gabriel the noted film critic. Actually Biff you weren't here last year so glad to see you join us. Finally we have added another distinguished Oscar picker....Goth my spirit guide...Good to see you all.

Biff...Fifi I love picking Oscars with you and seeing how different we think

Alocki: It is a pleasure to discuss the random probability of a film being chosen for an Oscar Fifi

Mr Gabriel...Fifi..It is always a pleasure picking Oscar winners with you...When are you going to head to that podium?

Moi:  Ohhhhh I dunno Mr Gabriel...When hell freezes over...I know I'm just as talented as any of these actors out there but let's not get into that....I just want to pick the Oscars...I'll bitch and moan about my fate like always after the Academy Awards are over...Goth you want to introduce yourself?

Goth:  Fifi the most important quality in life is honesty.....It's a pleasure meeting you all and I feel privileged to be picking Oscars with you all for the first time...

Allright lets make our picks:

Biff: Best Supporting Actress: Berenice Bejo
Best Supporting Actor: Max Von Sydow
Best Actress: Glenn Close
Best Actor: George Clooney
< Best Picture: The Descendants
Stinko: The Sitter

Alocki Best Supporting Actress: Berenice Bejo
Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer
Best Actress: Glenn Close
Best Actor: Jean Durjardin
Best Picture: The Artist
Stinko: Bucky Larsen

Fifi Best Supporting Actress: Janet McTeer
Best Supporting Actor: Kenneth Branaugh
Best Actress: Meryl Streep
Best Actor: Jean Dujardin
Best Picture: The Artist
Stinko: Jack and Jill

Mr
Gabriel Best Supporting Actress: Janet McTeer
Best Supporting Actor: Kenneth Branaugh
Best Actress: Viola Davis
Best Actor: George Clooney
Best Picture: The Help
Stinko: Twilight: Breaking Dawn

Goth: Best Supporting Actress: Ocvtavia Spencer
Best Supporting Actor: Kenneth Branaugh
Best Actress: Rooney Mara
Best Actor: Jean Dujardin
Best Picture: The Artist
Stinko: New Years Eve

Fifi: Alright so now our opinions. Mylordangosh I can't believe a black and white silent movie would be the best film of the year...But The Artist is so entertaining...Durjardin I mean he looks and acts like a young Gene Kelly...I really thought he was Gene come back from the dead,,,Story was so good.  Amazing how an anti hi tech special effects film could capture my interest so much,  Love the music in this movie... I just like this movie better than any movie in color and had sound.  I also love Kenneth Branaugh from My week with Marilyn...A perfect Olivier he played and I swear I thought that Janet McTeer from Albert Nobbs was a man.....Biff your opinions?

Biff: I like The Descendants for best picture...Sorry Fif...Maybe I'm too modern...The Artist didn't do if for me...I like talking and I like movies in color....The Descendants is such a touching story with George Clooney as a lawyer who deals his wife who is in a coma after getting into an accident.   I also love seeing Glenn Close playing a man in Albert Nobbs...

Fifi: Alocki?

Alocki: Like you I picked The Artist for Best Picture. No sound is needed...No color is needed...The movie is just so entertaining...I was concerned because it was a silent that I would get bored...I was so entertained by this film I was a bit disappointed when it ended...I wanted to see more...I also wish Beremice Bejo was nominated for best actress but like Biff I enjoyed the performance of Ms Close...She did an incredible job playing a man....

Fifi: Mr Gabriel?

Mr Gabriel: I liked The Help...I like movies that deal with historical conflict and the Civil Rights struggle was clearly historical conflict.  Reminded me a little of 2 great movies in the past that dealt with Civil Rights, Driving Miss Daisy and To Kill a Mockingbird...I loved Viola Davis in that movie...I agree with Biff that Clooney should get the Best Actor award...I also think the Twilight Series has run it's course....Breaking Dawn is a thoroughly forgettable movie.....

Fifi: Goth?

Goth:  How can I go against The Artist people....The conflict...The struggle the actor goes thru, a great silent star, adjusting to living in a world of a new medium, motion pictures made with sound...The Boy Girl story...Even the dog was a great and perhaps he should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor....Do Oscar nominees have to be human?  Maybe they need a Best Animal award...The Dog in The Artist competing against The Horse from Warhorse..

But my point who cares if The Artist is a sllent film?  The storyline in my opinion is better than any film made in sound and color...Also I'm gonna go left field in picking Rooney Mara for Best Actress...This girl completely became a different person in Girl with the Dragon Tatoo...I also want to mention Octavia Spencer my pick is almost a sure bet to win Best Supporting Actress,,,Great job she did in The Help....As for New Years Eve,,,Don't see it....Don't see it....Not even on New Year's Eve

Fifi: Goth you are a funny one...Best Animal actor....Look forward to seeing you make picks with us in the future....Allright you people, that's our opinions. We'll see who the winners are tonight.
