Winter is good for something!

A Sunrise
for the Creator of it

I saw the most incredible sight this morning. As I was driving home along the lakeshore, the sun was just peeking over the surface of the waters. On this frigid morning of 9 degrees, it was much more than that. My eyes fell upon the sight; I was immediately entranced. I had to pull over the car, as I could not force my eyes from it. As the orange sun still rose, it had to clear a pile of clouds dancing upon the surface of the waters. It stretched out thinly across the horizon, culminating to a peak where the sun was making its dramatic appearance. The sun cast its rays, spilling over the top of the clouds and sending gentle touches of colors cascading over the surface of the waters. Blues, oranges, and pale pinks made the already glasslike water iridescent; I felt I could see clear through the depths if I tried. Swirling on top of the waters above the surface was a collection of little stray cloud pieces. They smoked and steamed as the sun touched them with its rays and began to melt them away. They swirled as if in attempt to fight it and retain its position, as if it was in love with its reflection or fancied the water itself. As it slowly gave in to the warmth, the sun mirrored the glasslike water; its hues gently mingling with the orange of the sun, tenderly growing lighter as they reached a sort of friendship and harmonized their beauty… As the sun rose still higher and grew too bright, too intense for me to gaze upon any longer, I was forced to turn away, but not before I drank this image in… the imprint left on my heart~ my only wish being I could have shared it…

…with you.
