Journey Into Suragon Forest, From the childrens book I'm currently writing Cobblepot And Friends (A Wizards Tale)

Journey Into Suragon Forest

Cobblepot was checking his magic supplies when he noticed he was run lower on a few things that he could not get from the town market. The only place to find such herbs and spices was within the depths of Suragon Forest in the west one days walk from were he lived.

So he grabs a peace of parchment paper from the table and a quill and dipped the tip of the quill in a vile of dragons blood and begins writing a list of things he needs while on his journey. Once he has finished making a list Cobblepot pack a few things for his journey and grabs water bottle and decides to head other to Madeline's dwelling to see if she needs any herbs or spices as well.

And then cobblepot leaves. Once he arrives at Madeline's he knocks on the door and calls are you their Madeline? A moment later the door opens good morning Nicolas Cobblepot how are you this morning? I'm very well thank you Madeline and you? I'm very well thank you.

And what can I do for you this day good sir? I was heading over to Suragon Forest Madeline and was wondering if you need any magic supplies or herbs and spices while I was there.

Madeline replied hang on Nicolas I'll check if I need anything. Oh yes I could do with some hibiscus petals, bay leaves, mulberries and poppy. I'll make a list for you ok Nicolas. Ok Madeline. A short time later Madeline comes out with a list and a wand. Here's the list Nicolas thanks Madeline now what is the wand for Madeline taps Cobblepot on the forehead and says the wand is for the remember all spell I just cast on you so you don't forget the list. I know how you get caught up in what you are doing and forget the little things like a list as she smiled. Oh thanks Madeline

At least one of us thinks of the little things as they both laugh. I'll be gone a couple of days Madeline could you pleased keep an eye on Gabriel for me. Sure Nicolas Cobblepot I can do that for you. You just remember to take care out there in the forest.

I will Madeline don't worry about me I'll be fine. See you in a couple of days ok. Bye Nicolas Cobblepot. Good day to you Madeline. And with that Cobblepot heads out on his way to Suragon Forest in the west.

Late that evening Cobblepot arrives at the outer edge of Suragon Forest and makes camp for the night beneath the stars. Where he falls a sleep watching the evening stars high above him. Early the next morning Cobblepot is awaken to a strange sound just before sunrise.

Cobblepot looks around the campsite and there is nothing to be seen what ever it was seems to be gone. So he decides to stay up and watch the sunrise before heading into the forest for the day to pick herbs and spices. After breakfast Cobblepot makes his way into the forest and decides to make his way to the banks of the Suragon river that flows trough the forest cobble knows the best place to find periwinkle and willow are by the banks of the river.

On his way to the river he came across a large group of bay trees and decides to get some leaves for his self and Madeline. All good wizards and witches know fresh herbs mean fresh magic with this I mind Cobblepot will pick the leaves from the tree and place them on a peace of cloth then roll the cloth up into a roll and moisten the roll with some water his will help the herb to stay fresh till he reaches home.

After he is done with collecting bay leaves he makes his way towards the river. Once he fines the banks of the Suragon River he fines periwinkle and willow quickly and makes a roll of each and decides to rest a while by the riverside beneath the shade of a weeping willow, willow is used for wands and the roots of the tree are used in spells so it's a good place to rest.

Cobble takes a couple of branches for future use. Then pick up his belongings and make his way into the highlands looking for other herbs and spices as well as mulberries for Madeline. Half way up the mountain Cobblepot finds a large group of mulberries and beginning to pick the best berries for Madeline after collection some berries he makes his way towards a bigger bush in the center of the group.

When suddenly he finds a wood land creator unconscious beneath one of the bushes the creature seem to dehydrated and had a cut above its right ear Cobblepot take a peace of cloth and moisten it with some water. Then places it on the forehead of the creature.
Then he drops some water on his finger to help hydrate the creature. Then all Cobblepot can do is wait. A short time passes and the creature beginnings to stirs then suddenly the creature awakes. Cobblepot turns to the creature hello little one rest it looks like you taken a fall. Here have some water. So what are you woodland creature? I am a Snarliff; interesting Moldagart has spoken of your kind before, so you know of Moldagart human? Yes we are friends Snarliff.

So what is your name human? I'm Nicolas Cobblepot and you? You're the one the elves in the meadow speak of. And your name Snarliff? I'm Gorba Kotan. Pleased to meet you Gorba. So how did you come to fall little one? What are you doing with the red berries? I was collecting them for a friend. Snarliff eat the red berries.

Here Gorba feed on these they may help you recover. So why is it I've never seen you in the forest before? Gorba use Snarliff magic to conceal him self from humans. Ah Gorba sounds interesting my friend. Do you known of Snarliff magic Nicolas Cobblepot? No never.

Would you like to learn the art of concealing ones self with Snarliff magic. Sure why not and I return I'll help you pick berries and make a storehouse for you to keep them in Gorba. Sounds like a fair compromise Cobblepot. I'll collect some sticks and come back Gorba rest while I'm gone. A while later Cobblepot returns with some branches and ties them together then he takes a large peace of cloth and covers the structure with the cloth. Then Cobblepot asked Gorba where is your home?

Over the ridge said Gorba Cobblepot picked up Gorba and the storage structure and carried them both over the ridge to Gorba's home. Then he placed them both down and stacked the berries inside the structure for Gorba. Shall I teach you Snarliff magic Nicolas Cobblepot since you've been so nice to me? Why it would be an honour to learn your magic my friend. The Snarliff crawled into his burrow and came back with some black seeds and bark, what are the seeds Gorba Cobblepot asked.

There Poppy seed, and cinnamon bark what we do here is crash the two with a rock into a powder and then mix it with some water. Interesting then what all you do then is drink the mixture Nicolas Cobblepot. Here try it. Nicolas tried the mixture then Snarliff made and in no time he became invisible to the eye.

So Gorba how do change back so I can be seen again? Here crew on this left its mint it will change you back. Could you please tell me were you find these herbs my friend? Yes sure thing Cobblepot how about I show you in the morning? Yes that is an excellent idea you need your rest Gorba. Cobblepot made dinner for both of them. Then they talk beneath the stars till late.

Do you like looking at the stars Nicolas Cobblepot? Why yes I do actually Gorba how about you. Yes I like watching the stars, I long to travel beyond the forest one day Nicolas Cobblepot. So why haven't you my friend? Snarliff needs lot of Snarliff magic to conceal him self for such I long time. So what you need is a water bottle like mine Gorba? Why yes I guess so Nicolas Cobblepot but how does a Snarliff get one when he lives out here?

Well that's simple when I come back next time I'll bring you one. So you must leave soon? Yes Gorba in the morning but I will return in fourteen days my friend and when I leave we will leave this forest together my friend I promises. Now Gorba you need your rest, you should get some sleep I'll see you in the morning. Yes goodnight Nicolas Cobblepot.

Early the next morning just before sunrise Cobblepot and Gorba are awakened by the strange sound that Cobblepot heard the night before. Gorba what is the strange sound he asked? Quick come Nicolas Cobblepot I'll show you the two run as fast as they could and ducked in behind some bushes near an open field and watch within a could of minutes the field was filled with elves and fairies they seem the be feeding from the ground so Nicolas asked Gorba what are they eating my friend?

Why morning dew from the raising sun Nicolas Cobblepot that's what elves and fairies eat dewdrops from the ground. As they finished eat they spread there wings and flow of into distance Nicolas noticed the sound as the wings flapped in the wind. Well Gorba that explains the sound I've been hearing in the morning, Incredible. So Gorba shall we go and get our breakfast and watch the sunrise. Why yes Nicolas Cobblepot lets. The two headed back up the mountain to their camp.
