I wrote this for an English Journal entry, pardon any gramatical errors and such ^_^

Blackness, thats all I can see. Instinctively my hands reach for my face and feel the rough fabric that is wrapped around my eyes. As I quickly fumble at the knot at the back of my neck the sounds of a car approaching reaches my ears. Finally the knot gives and I jerk the clothe from my face rubbing the sides where they had been irritated from the makeshift blindfold. As I look around I seem Im in someplace ive never been before. On some hughway, that is strangely deserted.....except for the lone car inching closer and closer. Then I realize somthing else, Im in the middle of the road. I stumble to my feet and run towards the side of this forsaken highway. Unfortunately my foot catches on a hole on the side of the road. & Im down instantly. Regaining my composure I stand and look around. Where am I? Thats what kept running continuously through my mind. Where the heck was I and how had I gotten here? Looking towards the sky I try and grasp a better comprehension on things. The low setting sun & pinkish orange hues fleeting across the sky tell me its dusk. Its getting dark & Im not at home. A shiver runs through me as the cold finally sinks in. Covered in goose bumps I wrap my arms around myself as I begin to walk in what I think is East. Why Im walking East I dont know. Somthing seemed to draw me in that direction. Then I remembered the car. Turning around I see that it has completely dissappeared. Confused, I turn and nearly run into a sign. where did this come from? Was it here a second ago? Stepping back i read the rusted tin letters on the dingy green sign.

Hill Crest 5 miles

Hill Crest? That sounds oddly familiar. Like somthing in a dream Ive had before. I knew i should turn back....everything inside me was telling me to...but my legs seemed to move on their own...towards Hill Crest. Its dark by now and I see a light. Is that the town? The light keeps growing........but Ive stopped moving. A train whistle blows and my heart skips a beat as I look down and see Im no longer on the highway. Ive found myself standing on a train track. I try to run but my legs wont budge. I reach down, frantically pulling at them. Nothing I try works. Out of desperation I scream.........knowing.....no one will here. My hands move to block my face as the train hurtles forward. Right before it hits I jerk up in bed.....Im drenched in sweat and gasping for air. It was only a dream......
