My favorite toy as a child

A story I have written for a yahoo group I am in.

Growing up in an abusive household was hard. I put up with a lot of crap! I did have my favorite stuffed animals to keep me “protected” from the two evil men that did things to me. Sometimes, by a miracle, it seemed to work! Other times, it would not work at all.

I had a stuffed dog, named “J.J. Junior”.  He looked exactly like the current dog we had then. We had a Norwegian elkhound named “J.J.”. I must have taken that dog with me everywhere~! (The stuffed dog, that is.) Actually, I just looked into my closet and you won’t believe, but I STILL have him! I am laughing at myself at the moment. I have had the dog from age of seven to present. I stopped playing with him around ages of twelve to thirteen years old.

I will simply echo Felix's words, Becca. They are most appropriate and I agree with his sentiments regarding you and your life. Love and best wishes to you,

Becca, I read most of your work tonight, and a little of your tragic youth history as well as your health issues and I just want to say I admire your wealth of positivity and creativeness that seems to grow with your inner strength and love. Thank you for sharing your world the good and the bad with us here on the den. I wish you nothing but the happiness that you so richly deserve.
