An experiment in the mirrored refrain style.

The ghost beckoned me,
A crooked finger curling up,
Gliding through the church
Inviting me to drink from the cup.

The ghost smiled at me,
Making my stomach lurch
I was dangling at the cusp
Of my precarious perch.

The ghost held out the cup
Offering it once again
I took the cup and swished the wine
Tilting it in my hand.

The ghost nodded encouragingly
And I sipped the juice of vine
The taste was rather bland
I lost all sense of time.

The ghost was no longer there
And my eyes the room scanned
The sun no longer shined
Towards the door I ran.

The ghost appeared at the door
His head was shaking no
I stopped, trembling with fear,
I had no where to go

The ghost was me, and I was him
I noticed as I drew near
His black eyes were aglow
My choice was now so clear.

The ghost drew close to myself
I felt his hand on my arm
I knew there was nothing to fear
That he would bring no harm.

The ghost then led down the stairs
My rest was oh so near
The peace was beginning to disarm
As I began the sleep of years.

This is a great poem, why is it not in the poetry section?
