This story is for ETERNAL TRAILS, The Final Chapter, Book 4
You’re in your car driving home from work. Your thoughts are on the upcoming game on TV that you want to see tonight or the meal you want to prepare.
Then suddenly, a sound not like anything you've ever heard before fills the car. You realize the sound is coming from somewhere high above you. A tornado maybe? A thunderstorm? A trumpet! That’s what it sounds like. No, more like a choir of trumpets. You’re not sure but it’s more intense than anything you have ever heard before and you want to know what is causing it.
So you pull over, get out of your car, and look up. As you‘re getting out, you see you aren't the only curious person around. Traffic has come to a stand still. People are opening their car doors and standing around everywhere you can see; and all of them are looking up into the sky. Shoppers are pouring out of stores. In the ball field down the street the game has come to a complete stop. The young players, their parents, the coaches and the umpires are all searching the clouds up above.
What they see, what you see, has never, ever been seen before. It’s as if there were a doorway in the sky, the very air seems to part and open. A brilliant light is being emitted from the opening and is lighting the entire earth. Yet, there are no shadows. None. Not a single shadow can be seen anywhere. And the light is so vibrantly brilliant, more brilliant, than any you have seen before.
No longer is there a shadow of a doubt in your mind either. Yet, some people seem to be looking on in wonder, as if this were just some strange natural phenomenon happening above them. But you know, as you have always known.
Then from the sky comes raining down every color imaginable and countless more colors you’ve never before seen. Riding on this seemingly endless rainbow is an army of angels. They pass through one brilliantly lit section of color at a time, until they seemingly occupy every square inch of the sky. North. South. East. West. Thousands upon thousands of silent, translucent, velvety wings rise and fall as one, and over the sound of their trumpets, you can hear this multitude of angels singing, ‘Hallelujah.’ The final flanking line of angels is followed by two dozen silver bearded elderly men and millions upon millions of souls who had long since departed this earth. They too, join the angels in singing adoration and worship.
Without warning the movement stops and the trumpets are silent, leaving only the glorious sound of their wonderful singing, ‘hallelujah, hallelujah, hal-le-lu-jah.’ Between each word there seems to be a brief pause. With each word that they sing, a profound reverence. Then you hear your own voice joining in with the chorus. You know why it is you are singing and you know you must.
Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet. The angels turn, you turn, the entire world turns and there He is.
Through tremendous waves of brightly colored light you can see the figure of Christ the King. He is riding atop a great white stallion, and the stallion is riding the very top of a billowing storm cloud. But there is a bright light emitting from this vast cloud and no thunder can be heard, no lightning flashes and no rain falls from it. The winds are calm and this gigantic clouds cast no shadow upon the earth.
The angels lower their heads in an adoring bow. The elderly men remove their crowns. And before you is a figure so consuming that you know, instantly you know! Before this most Glorious Figure even speaks, you know. Then, as He opens His mouth, you are surrounded by the declaration that you have been praying for, for years and years. And as Jesus speaks, you hear Him as if He were standing by your side and speaking directly to you and only to you. But in your heart you know that all who believe can hear Him too.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” Jesus says. “The First and the Last, your Savior, the One, true living God Almighty. I am the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I came to live with your ancestors as a man and died so that all who believe in Me might live. I am the Son of Man, the only begotten Son of God. I am the Lamb that was slain and yet I live forevermore. I am the Word of God. I am Jesus.”
Now, nothing else in this sorry old world matters. You forget about the game, your next meal, the price of gas and school reports. Sales meetings and tax returns mean nothing any longer. Money is now meaningless. Nothing else at all is newsworthy.
All that mattered, matters no more; for Christ has come. Jesus Christ is back at long last, to bring an end to all your pain and suffering.
Then Jesus continues to speak, “I welcome you, all of you who have so faithfully believed in Me, to the place in My kingdom that I have prepared for you. Sorrowfully however, not all of you have accepted Me and your lot has been cast. Your final chance has now come and gone and you chose the other. Therefore I say to you, depart from Me for you are the cursed. An everlasting fire has been prepared for the devil and his demons and all who chose to follow him. To the hungry you gave no food, when they thirsted you gave them no water, to the homeless you did not give shelter, the poor you did not clothe and the sick and infirmed you did not visit and console. So assuredly, I now say to you, as you did not do these things for them, you did not do them for Me. You chose greed, wealth, fortune and fame over family, love and compassion. You have chosen everlasting punishment over eternal life. Now your time has come. Go away from Me now into that punishment, for only those who are righteous in Mine eyes, through their acceptance of Me and My ways, have earned their way to the Father.”
Romans 8:1-4 says, ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.‘
If only we will all accept Him before it is too late.

|Dear Paul, I read your beautiful story; it is a good imagination which seems to be inspired by the bible. The description is also very creative. If you allow me to tell you that in reality what you wrote will happen otherwise. First our people have to be prepared for such a marvelous event. Our body will hardly comprehend what is going on, some people will faint as the power coming from Him is so powerful that the best electric stream we know seems very soft, the ones who are prepared will help those who faint and tell them what is going on. Since that event people become believers as they cannot forget this power. Haleluya! Emile|

|The rapture. Ah, yes. We must be ready for that Glorious Day when Jesus comes back to take His Children home to be with Him in Glory, forever and ever! I have written about the Raptures myself; very scary, yet gives us Christians a sense to soldier on in an evil world until He comes back. And that day is coming soon. Excellent write; very well penned, Paul! BRAVO!
In any event, Come, Lord Jesus; He can't come soon enough!!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
I am glad I know Jesus as my Lord and Saviour!! :)
