'I know it was not love at first sight...but we have had 50 years together with never a boring experience.
"It was exciting for me until a man sat down next to me. He introduced himself as the boss of the bush pilots and, of course, knew the man who was supposed to be my husband, according to the ticket I had borrowed. We chatted about him and his trips most of the way. I remember sitting with my gloves on all the time, partly because of the chill, but mostly because of the lack of a wedding ring. They did not hinder my eating because in those days all the stewardesses served were coffee and frozen Dad's cookies!"
