An aging professional golfer, having squandered most of his career, has one last chance at redemption, through an extraordinary (supernatural?) event.
Tom Gomez was a phenom, the next Tiger Woods. But he let fame and fortune go to his head. Too much partying and a motorcycle accident limited his potential and stalled his career. Now 30 years later, on the downslope of a decent, but not spectacular, career, he has one last chance to make a statement. To prove that he still has a little something left.
One extraordinary event gives him a second chance at greatness. But does he have what it takes, or will he fritter away another opportunity, as he had so many others over the years?
This story is largely golf-oriented, but it contains a fantasy/sci-fi element that elevates it above a traditional sports story.
