Motivation wears off, we need to continual rejuvenate ourselves
Bath Yourself in Motivation
Many people are under the assumption that they can go to a motivational workshop, read a book, listen to a CD, and that's all they ever need to do. “Yup,” they say “I am motivated, reprogrammed for success - watch me now”. And then after a few days, weeks, or months, they fall back into the same old patterns. Why? Faulty assumptions…they think one book, workshop, or CD will set them on the right path for life, and that’s part of but not all of the answer. We need to remember it is the beginning of the path, not the end. And yes it is a great start. We would like those good feelings that spark us to last – it can; it just takes time. Why…because every one of us is bombarded daily by negative news, thoughts, and people, what Kevin Elko calls “the quacking ducks”. You know what I mean, you can here them quacking, “this isn’t right, that isn’t right; I can’t do anything about that. They are all victims; victims of the great unknown “they”. The “they” that we never quite seem to find out who “they” are. They; unnamed masses or forces that mess up our lives, and so the ducks quack, and quack, and quack”. I'm not saying it’s all bad, but much is. Just listen and pay attention, or better yet - don’t listen. We need to combat all that quacking we are being exposed to by surrounding ourselves, on a daily basis, with as much positive information, and as many people as possible. Remember, you take a shower every day to wash the dirt away and you do it again tomorrow because it wears off and you get dirty. What about showering you; in daily positive motivation, thoughts, people, sounds, music, and reading. You have everything to gain.
