This is a short story about a young boy who looks up to his daddy and wants to grow up to be a good man.

My Daddy gives me kisses and lets me hug his neck,

He kisses Mommie longer, and I just get a peck.

(PAGE TWO)

That's ok with me, because I'm a growing boy,

Mommie is his lady and I'm his Pride and Joy.

(PAGE THREE)

Sometimes we do fun things and sometimes we have to work,

My Daddy is a Welder and my Mommie is a Clerk.

(PAGE FOUR)

I'm in the first grade and my job is to learn,

Working is a privilege; it is something I will earn.

(PAGE FIVE)

I can do this by going to school and learning all that I can,

Because one day I'll be like my Daddy and grow up to be a good man.

(PAGE SIX)

I want to tell my friends they need to work and play,

Because one day they'll have a family to feed every day.

(PAGE SEVEN)

My daddy says we're worth it to keep us fed and warm,

To keep us safe and protected, he'd weather any storm.

(PAGE EIGHT)

If you don't have your Daddy that would make you really sad,

Just keep your head held high and make it the best life you’ve ever had!
