Hi Barthe:
June.08.09
My name is Destiny and like your little girl I have Cystic Fibrosis, at the age of eight my health was probably as precarious as your daughters, but the Lord saw it fit to keep me hear longer. I am seventeen now, and though I still have Cystic Fibrosis, I now attend high school with my friends and live a fairly active life, while waiting and praying that I get a double lung transplant.
I wanted to write to give you hope though, because I am praying that things will look up for Bitsy, that despite having Cystic fibrosis, she will be able to live an active normal life. I too use a portable oxygen tank, but that does not stop me from living my life, and now I even drive. When I was younger we did not even think I would live long enough to reach that important milestone.
I am praying that sometime soon we can figure out something that will stop CF in its tracks. Sadly though I am still alive, I have lost many of my friends with CF in my seventeen years. It's never easy watching a child die from this, but it is better to focus on the good and not so much on the bad.
God Bless
