Jacob was born nearly ten weeks early and has Cerebral Palsy, he is eight and bright as any child I know.  He is about proving everyone wrong, and breaking down those assumptions.

          Some doctors early on said that he suffered severe mental retardation, but he does not, he gets straight A’s in school and though he’s only eight, he reads at a seventh grade level, he is in all regular classes accept for P.E of course, and even physically he is proving to beat the odds.  Jacob was never supposed to walk but he is walking with the aid of canes, and I could not be more proud of my boy.

          My son plays on a special Little League team with others who happen to have physical disabilities, and he loves it, and I love coaching him.  My ex wife is missing out on so much and I know Jacob misses her from time to time, but I tell him that she thinks about him and loves him.  I am sure she loves him, she just had her own demands to deal with and she needs to deal with them on her own.  Jacob really does not need to know about his Mothers past, at least not at this time.

          Well Jacob is calling me, I promised Pizza tonight so I better get going.  I’ll write more again soon.
