I am so glad for the fact that despite having a prosthetic leg, kids pretty much treat me the same. A few are afraid and there has been a time or two that I have fallen and my leg has come off, but when I laugh it off they just do to.

9/14/2011

Hello it is Cara here once again, I know it has been along time since I have written I am in the sixth grade now and its been a year and a few months since the accident that cost me my leg, and I am doing very well.  I was told to write about myself for a school assignment so I decided to write about the time it took me to get stronger and better since the accident.

I use my prosthetic leg all the time unless I get a sore or something then I don't but I have learned to do almost everything I did before with my artificial leg.

I no longer have the pains in that leg, that I had right after the accident, the ones that made me wake up in the middle of the night screaming because my brain still thought my leg was their and hurting of course it wasnt and that has passed and for that I am grateful.

I ride a bike now, I jog, I do everything I did before, because I can.  I really do not look at this as a disability, or anything really, it is just something that happened and it could have been worse.

I thank God it wasn't worse, because I am only eleven going on twelve and I really am not ready to leave this earth.  I think God has a few more things planned for me.

I am so glad for that.

I am so glad for the fact that despite having a prosthetic leg, kids pretty much treat me the same.  A few are afraid and there has been a time or two that I have fallen and my leg has come off, but when I laugh it off they just do to.

Mom says shes proud of my attitude, says that I am going to go far in this life with the postive attitude I have.  But I figure feeling sad all the time isn't going to change anything, so I might as well be happy right?

God Bless

Cara~
