I know I am blessed, I can serve the Lord in my way, I do not have to face a firing squad simply for holding to Jewish customs, but I believe in Christ too, I am a Messianic Jew, that makes me no less Jewish.

Shabbat Shalom:

3/27/2012

11:30 P.M Nashville TN

Rebekka Rachel here I have been meaning to write here all day, because my heart has been so heavy after reading Salvaged Pages, the journals of those who both survived and died in the Holocaust,   Some of the accounts were heartbreaking.  It became real what happened to my people after reading these accounts.

Can you imagine having to measure food down to the ounce, down to the killogram, or going to bed so hungry, your stomach ache, and simply because you did not fit into some mad mans mold.

I would have two things against me in his mind, I was first a Jew which he more than hated, and I was disabled.  I shutter to think what would have happened to me if I lived in German, France, or the Czech republic then I would have certainly been gassed in bergen-belsen.

I am not so Naive that I do not know the story of the things they did to the people during the days of the Holocaust, and their is no way to sugar coat the attrocitry that happened, but despite it all, the Jewish climbed their way back, those who survived, made it their mission to ensure nothing like this ever happened again, but sadly it happens, in Africa, in Asia, Children are being exiled and killed, being forced to murder other children.

I know I am blessed, I can serve the Lord in my way, I do not have to face a firing squad simply for holding to Jewish customs, but I believe in Christ too, I am a Messianic Jew, that makes me no less Jewish.

I have talked to my husband Johnny, about what it means ot be Jewish, but how can you really explain what you are?  I am glad he understands though, and knows how much both my Christian and Jewish faith mean to me, and some who think they do not fit together, think completely wrong.  Christ himself was a Jew.

Healthwise I am doing okay, still holding my own as is Johnny.  I pray this continues,  Yeshua certainly has been good to us in that are, we are both about beating the odds, but knowing a little more about my history, I can understand that now.

Well I am going to go.  I am going to continue to write about this another time, but morning comes early and it's nearing midnight already.

Yeshua Bless

Rebekka Rachel
