It's been less than two years since I lost my leg, but I have showed everyone who will listen, that with all four limbs or whether you are missing a limb you can make a difference.

My Mother and I started a foundation in which we get artificial legs and arms Prosthesis, to those who could not afford them,  We saw the difference they could make how a good prosthetic worked for me and we wanted other children to have the same chance.  We did not want them to be without simply because they lacked the financial means, because a prosthetic leg could very well give someone the freedom they would not otherwise have.

A prosthetic leg, depending on if it's above the knee or below the knee can cost anywhere from five thousand to twenty thousand dollars, and a prostetic arm anywhere from four thousand to six thousand dollars and higher. 

Something that does factor in for alot of people, I know that I was blessed that our inustance for the most part covered this, and Mother and Father made good money, but this was the exception not the rule, and I wanted others teenagers my age, and children even younger to have the opportunity I had.  A prosthetic leg or arm just may give them that.

To date we have raised enough money for nearly five hundred artificial limbs and are hoping to make that a thousand by the end of the year.  Fund raising is not easy, but it is rewardhing, and I am thankful that in a way I can give back.
