Feeling compelled to answer some questions that have come my way.

Feeling compelled to answer some questions that have come my way.

1. Why don’t you have more war stories in your books and blogs?

My belief is focus on solutions. I share the “war stories” when they have a purpose. Most successful vets I know steer clear because we may have not mastered things that might trigger our state. %80 solution / %20 problem

2. Is it true you were a street sweeper in Baghdad calling in Airstrikes?

This is a good one because although I speak Arabic I look as white as a ghost. And to pull that off I would have to have been damn good.

3. Did you really work for the CIA?

No, the CIA does not exist, (although we have a pretty cool website, even has a place for the kids to mingle)

4. Did you really turn down an opportunity for West Point?

Yes, I was young and wild and preferred to work alone.

5. Why do you love Professional Wrestling so much?

When I was a kid growing up it was challenging to say the least and my brother Greg (RIP) and myself escaped through our own lives by watching the original Sheik, (RIP) Bobo Brazil (RIP) Ernie ”the cat” Ladd and then Superstar Bill Dundee (sorry to give away your age superstar) and anything going on in Memphis Wrestling. The Funks, Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair, believe it or not, taught me confidence. Dundee taught me how to be a gentleman.
Why are Pro Wrestling, Nascar, and Bullriding the only real sports?
Because all of the other sports only use one ball!
It was and is my soap opera. I miss the older days some. Yes it was an escape, a damn good one though. Want more read my book PTSD, the chapter on “Wrestling with Physiology”.

6. Is it true when you retired the first time that you had 28 jobs in 7 years.

Yes. When I went back to work for the government and went to Iraq. I did it for the money (justifying that it was a good cause)I was flat broke and at the time it was all that I knew. I learned a lot about myself and my glass became full so I retired forever.

7. Were you in Mogadishu on Oct 3rd 1993 and were you quoted in the movie or the book “Blackhawk Down”

I never saw the movie or read the book so I don’t know. In my new book Wide Asleep (coming out Jan 08) I had a great spiritual experience during the “Battle for Mogadishu” I discuss it there. I knew I was going to die and that is not the best mindset for a warrior. It just wasn’t my time.

8. Did you really hijack a bus in Mogadishu to get back to the University Compound?

Yes, but no I won’t discuss that

9. Do you have a lot of medals?

I gave my son one or two my dad a couple and they don’t mean Sh#t to me. Others deserve more than I got. I threw the rest in the Gulf of Mexico. I am not a Hero by any stretch of the imagination. I worked alone even when I was part of a team. That was my job (disinformation and deception). I always answered to some unknown that I never knew or trusted. I got into tons of trouble because of my mouth. I am Proud to say I always got the job done (to my satisfaction).
Everyone always said the same thing to me “all that shit you talk I thought you’d be bigger”. This is where Superstar Bill Dundee comes in the picture. If you never had the chance to see him perform from 78-82 you missed the “I thought you’d be bigger” thing. 3 people could sell out the Mid-South Coliseum. One was Elvis and the other two where Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee. Hell, Bill is still in the ring and he is 64, Lawler is still at it also.

10. Are you full of Sh#t?

Not always. A sense of contribution makes all of life worthwhile.

I’ll answer the other 10 questions some other time thank you for your interest.

I am grateful for all of the abundance and friends I have in my life.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Questions about immigration? Let’s ask the American Indians how they feel about that
