I Am A Monk

16 word challenge for my muse.

I left my suburban home on a warm friday morning. I never have looked back since. I walked for miles, causing a hole in my shoe.
I thought of listening to natures sounds, I can hear them so well.
I passed some women singing as they hung there clothes on a line to dry. One pretty red head had very much appeal to me. But I was thinking of gladness, no more heartbrake for me.
I reached a flock of sheep being herded by a monk. He smiled and waved to me. He offered me shelter
a nice clean room with only a bed.
This room would become my sanctuary. It was upstairs over a church. It was quiet and peaceful,
just what I needed to blend in.
I became a monk to love, and praise the Lord.
I gave up the corporate world and the physical love of a woman. To be where my soul shall reside for the remainder of my days. I am at peace now. I can never go astray. My days are occupied with work, and prayer. I now live my life in solitude, where I am welcome. No more rejection and heartache.
I live only for God in my own simple ways.

Interesting write. As a youngster, I dreamed of becoming a nun but we weren't Catholic!
Are these sixteen words only to be used in a story or can they be used in a poem? Do you mind if I try?
