On Writing Fiction
What is fiction?
Fiction is an imaginative form of story telling; not all fiction is entirely imaginary some may contain real places, events, and people.
Character, plot, and setting are the three main elements of fiction, and it can come in many forms; novels, short stories, poems, plays, and many more.
I think fiction is exciting because I am a person who thrives on creating. I love to create images with paints, I enjoy creating music and lyrics, poems let me create written emotion, and mostly I love creating characters.
Characters and their story is what compels me to write down their adventure to share with as many people as I can. I love to create conflict in my writing. Creating problems and obstacles for my characters to overcome really makes a tale worth telling.
Fiction is beauty to me. Poetry is like an oil painting that is full of emotion in every brush stroke. Every word in a novel needs the other words in order to convey its message. Every novel could leave you with a sense of satisfaction and entertainment just by walking in someone else’s shoes and experiencing their life. It’s beauty.
I loved fiction since the age of eleven when I began writing it. Horror always intrigued me (even in movies to this day), and from that time I always wished to see my name on a cover of a book.
I'd written dozens of horror stories (I even drew the cover for those stories). I was so excited about creating my very own monster from my imagination. Now, I am just as excited as I was then, but even more so because now I got my name on books of fiction.
