In north-east France, in the little town Thil, deep in a mine was a secret V1 rocket factory. When truckloads of V1 were supposed to be delivered to a train, a French Maquis together with a priest were ready to blow it up. Pierre placed a load of explosives adjacent to the road and he went uphill to watch the trucks coming. He thought that the priest gave him the signal, but instead of trucks, he saw a Mercedes with a woman and a child approaching. He threw himself upon the explosive to blow himself up, and save the woman and the child.
The death camp with five hundred Hungarian Jewish metal workers, worked four kilometers deep in an iron mine. They were forced to make V1 rockets. Many civilian French miners were members of the Resistance. Pierre was their leader. They committed many acts of sabotage, but could not stop the production, therefore decided to blow up the rockets while they would be delivered to the railway station. Above the road was a cemetery, and the railroad ran adjacent to it. A priest hid in the cemetery, where he could see the trucks coming and signal to Pierre by hitting the rail in the rythm a train would make noise, not to arouse suspicion. He saw no rucks, but an actual train.
Pierre placed the explosives under the road and climbded onto a hill, kept his ear on the rail to hear the signal.
He did not see the approaching train, thought that he heard the signals of the priest, but instead of trucks he saw a black Mercedes with a woman and a small girl. He had no choice but throw himself onto the explosives, blow himself up to save the woman and the child.
