Ronee' is in a great mood: tomorrow is when she, her brother, Johnny, and her parents leave for their cruise to Alaska, and tonight they are forecasting auroras as far south as Texas. She sees this as a Sign from God, and she is very happy about it.
God planned this; I KNOW He did!!
Tomorrow we are leaving for our cruise to Alaska (we fly to California--San Francisco--from Nashville Airport, and after checking in at the airport, we then go to the ship area, where we will then go aboard our cruise ship; and then we will set sail for Alaska!), and tonight, according to the Spaceweather.com site on the Internet, there are possible AURORA BOREALISES tonight, as far south as Texas!! We live in Tennessee, so there is a VERY GOOD chance that we will see them here!
I am so excited I don't know what to do! Between the auroras tonight and also our trip tomorrow, I don't think I will sleep AT all! Johnny and maman and daddy are just as excited as we are, but probably not NEARLY as much as ME! I am really looking forward to our cruise!!
I don't think that the aurora borealis warnings couldn't have come at a better time! It's like God is going to give us a FREE preview of what we will see in Alaska, only there, the auroras will be MUCH BRIGHTER, and right now I am so stoked and so excited I can hardly type fast enough; my fingers are going a mile a minute, and my brain is going even faster, and it is all I can do to try to type this down on my computer without making a hideous mistake!! LOL
The ONLY thing I can't figure out is WHY there has to be a WARNING with the aurora borealis! The aurora borealis doesn't thunder or have lightning or have rain, hail, or tornadoes like thunderstorms do (ICK!! Wouldn't THAT be a nightmare to end all NIGHTMARES!?!); all auroras do is sit there in the northern sky, looking all pretty and spectacular; and then change colors and dance like curtains in the breeze! They don't make any noise or do anything weird; WHY then, must these people issue WARNINGS whenever there is an aurora?? I can't seem to figure that out!!
Well, I must go; I am at the library, and I am supposed to be STUDYING! If Mrs. Thompson sees that I am NOT studying, she just may have my hide! So before I catch it from her, I best better go! I will write more on the ship when I have my laptop~
C-ya!

| This is really sweet of you and your right I have enjoyed this read a great deal :-) BTW I think the reason for the warning could be connected with satelights? Not sure just guessing. |

(((karen)))
ronee' isn't as excited as we are! LOL truth: there are aurora warnings for low altitudes (southern states) for tonight and tomorrow night, as a Coronal Mass Ejection erupted from the sun, sending a massive magnetic storm our way
result: AURORAS! :) *can't wait*
love this story, and love ronee's excitement :) *except the part about the auroras and thunderstorms--THANKS, KAREN LOL*
(((HUGS))) and love you, too :), karla. :) |
