A couple takes in children with special needs and raises them as their own.
My name is Annie. Annie Rentshaw is my whole name; and I live near Ocala, Florida, with my husband, Trent, and our family of five children who range in age from five on down to just ten months in age.
We may be adding more in the future.
Our children are all disabled in one way or another, but there is nothing they can't or won't do! They are very loving (if very lively!) children with stubborn streaks that seem to go on forever, and they WON'T take no for an answer!
We have two boys and three girls, and they are as follows:
Our daughters are named Graciela Teresita (she is the oldest at five; she is from Mexico, and she has facial differences; she has already had at least a dozen surgeries and faces more in the years to come), Amita Dyann (she is three, and she came to us last year from near Calcutta, India; she has asthma and severe allergies), and Tiphany Gianna. (She is two; and she has Down's syndrome. She comes to us from China.) As for our two boys, their names are Teddy (Theodore Roosevelt; he is a year old, and he has cerebral palsy) and Tyrone Lutrell (he is our baby at ten months; he has spina bifida). Both of the boys came to us from New York state. Yet they are our own kids, and we have enjoyed having them in our lives.
I am a stay at home homeschooling instructor (I teach our kids at home; I don't send them to public school because I don't like how they do things), and my husband is a mail carrier. We don't have to worry about money: it seems whenever we are in a pinch, God somehow always provides.
Our children are our number one priority right now in our lives; and if we go anywhere, they go with us. We don't hide our children; we are very proud of all of them, and if people can't accept them because of their obvious physical disabilities, then THEY are the ones who have the problem, NOT us! Our children are our greatest blessing, and God has blessed us mightily by bringing these once unloved, unwanted orphans of society to America and brought them into our home--and into our hearts and lives.
I will be writing more as time permits; so you won't be hearing the lsat from us, the Rentshaws of Ocala, Florida! I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about me, my husband, and our little Miracles that God so lovingly chose for us!
