Bill is happy: his son, Johnny, is being released from the hospital in a few hours.

Saturday, October 6, 2007, Nashville, Tn., 8:25 a.m., D.S.T.~

Dear Journal~

Bill here. I am very happy this morning: my son, Johnathon, is being released from the hospital in only a few short hours! That means no dilly-dallying around; getting him, his medical equipment, and wheelchair is a production in itself!

I am going to have to have my sons Michael, Richard, and Porter help; there's no way I can do it by myself, especially since: a.) I recently had back surgery (don't need to be unhinging everything the doctors fixed!!), and b.) I'm on crutches due to worsening arthritis.

Johnny seemed so ubeat last night. The nurses told me he was making fun of their butts. I didn't say anything, but I did crack a smile. Johnny's at that age where he loves to be a tease; as long as he knows not to go too far or intentionally hurt other people's feelings, I have no problem with that. He's a typical teenaged boy; boys his age love to kid around like that.

He is more than ready to go back home. He's had enough of that hospital life! He can't wait to crawl back into his bed or enjoy his computer games again!

The other children are excited about Johnny's homecoming; they plan on welcoming him back with much fanfare. I don't blame them for being excited: Johnny was very sick; he could have very easily died, yet God intervened, and he's doing much, much better!

I have called church, and I know they'll make a big fuss over him tomorrow. It will probably embarrass my son to death, but he has a lot of people who love him, and when he's ill or hurt, people are concerned, as they should be.

Ronee' will be joining her brother on Monday. She's in the hospital for a few more days, but she will be home soon, too. Ronee' is doing much better, and I'm glad of it.

Right now it's not Ronee' I should be writing about, it's Johnny. Johnny's the star of the show today. :) And in a few short hours, our star will be shining brightly around the house! :)

The weather outside matches our joy: bright, wall-to-wall sunshine, pleasant morning temperatures, with a hint of fall in the air, leaves turning bright colors on the trees, birds winging their way southward. Breezes tickling our faces--all in all, just a perfect fall morning.

Well, I'd best get the other kids up, have them get ready for Johnny's arrival home, and make sure they make their beds, straighten up their rooms. I will write in here another time; have to eat, wash up, and then leave to get Johnny! O, happy day, Johnny's coming home!!

~Bill. :D

Take care and God bless!
