Michael writes in his journal during study hall. He is the one kids call "Rat-Nose".

Friday, March 28, 2008, McKinney, Texas~

Dear Journal~

Hey!  It's just li'l ol' me writing in here; hope this finds you well!

I have been swamped: homework, watching out over Little Brother, doing my chores (boring!!), chilling out with my pals--you know, typical teenage stuff.

Add to that, church business.  Personally, I find church to be rather dull.  I'd much rather stay home on Wednesday night (or Sunday day).  Oh, I believe in God, don't get me wrong; it's all the Bible stuff that drives me insane! All those names, all those places, all those events--YARGG!!

The weather is warming up.  We did have some rain earlier this morning; still raining out as I write this; but it's supposed to clear up sometime later this afternoon.  Good, because I hate staying inside on a rainy day!

How was your Easter?  Mine would have been okay, but I had a killer assignment (due this past Monday), and I spent a lot of time working on it, trying to get it done.  Now it's out of my hair; hopefully, I'll get a good grade on it! I really worked hard on it!! (It was for History class; I had to do a diarama of Julius Caeser.  I worked on it for weeks.)

My stupid kid brother, natch, got to play all Easter break.  Figures.  It always happens!  He gets to play during vacation while I toil like the workhorse that I am!!

It's not fair!! GRRRR!!!!

Well, gotta run, have to get back to Studying.  Teacher's giving me the laser eye again; I tell you, his glare could cut through steel!!  Will write again; take care!

~"Rat-Nose". :-)

Karen, you're really done a beautiful job of characterizing this young man. His voice sounds so much like about a billion other kids who go to school and church. Terrific job.

Sounds like a typical, sometimes grumpy, teenager. :~)

Poor Rat Nose - life just isn't fair, sometimes, is it? Excellent write of frustration!
