Howdy-rooney! This is your friend in Fort Worth, Texas, Tank Griswald! Hope this finds y'all well!
I am as happy as a clam: yesterday (Friday) was the last day of classes for two weeks. Two weeks of nothing but fun, fun, fun! No worries about homework or professors boring me to tears! I can sleep in all day if I want to! YAY!!!!
After classes ended yesterday, I went to my friend Dominico's place. He has his band, "The Hairballs". Am still thinking of joining up as their drummer; haven't really made a conscious decision yet. I mean, I am going to a Christian college; playing in a rock band that does secular music doen't really seem like the thing to do.
Still, the thought of playing in front of a live audience and having girls hanging all over you is tempting. :)
I just hope that if that ever happens, I don't forget my own girl, Steffi Sandusky. For one thing, she'd skin me alive if she caught me with girls other than her hanging around. LOL
Anyway, Dom is a wonderful musician and singer. He has been playing guitar ever since he was small; he's gotten really good at it. He sings like Rod Stewart; Rod Stewart is this aging old rocker that my dad grew up listening to, and I've taken a liking to the dude's music.
He's been thinking of starting up a band for a while now. Don't know where he got the band's name, "The Hairballs"; don't even want to ask. LOL It does sound like a good name for a rock band, though!
We did have some weather last time I wrote, but thankfully nothing serious. All the energy went up north into Oklahoma and Kansas, and all we got out of it was some brief heavy rain and some cloud to ground lightning as well as some small hail and wind. Nothing major.
We may have another go at it Monday and Tuesday. I pray not, but I think it's time for severe weather season; spring is once again upon us. The weather can be so wild this time of year; this is when I still wish I lived in Alaska, where the only storms are magnetic! (The northern lights!)
The day before yesterday (Thursday), I took Steffi out to eat at her favorite place. Olive Garden. She loves that place! She used to work at Golden Corral back home in Tennessee, and she still works there on break. She's been working there for over three years now. (She works on the line, where you first come in.)
The food was good, and we really enjoyed ourselves. (My favorite place to eat is Chico's Mexican Cantina. We go there sometimes if we don't hit the Golden Corral or Olive Garden.)
Well, I am going to go. Am going to take my girl out to the movies; we want to see the one about the slumdogs. I've heard a lot of good things about that movie; it even won several Academy Awards. So we are going to check it out, see what all the hype is about. I will write in here again later; until then this is Tank Griswald saying I'm outta here!
