Slobo Trbanek is now wearing his prosthetic legs; it's made a world of difference in his life. He's a new man.

August 2009~

Hello!  Slobo here.  Slobo Trbanek.  Yes, that's me.  :)

Sorry if I don't write in long time, but I had to wait to get my fake legs.  Took a very long time; for a while, I think I never get them, but then I did, and now I go everywhere!  I no longer sit at home; have too much to do!  Slobo busy, busy, busy!!

Still getting used to my new "legs", so for now I still use my crutch-sticks.  Once I get better at using my "legs", I throw crutch-sticks away, walk under my own power.  It gonna take time, so I must learn to be patient.

Working hard at store; I now no longer do bagging groceries.  I greet people as they come in store; I love it!  I got a raise; my boss, he is very proud of me.  He say I work hard.  I gotta work hard:  have bills to pay, have to take care of my mama!

English getting easier and easier.  I write English like a person born in America; still speak it funny, though.  English is such confusing language: all these rules, and all these crazy words, words I never heard of. Words like "gymboree".  What in the heck is that?  Is that an animal in the zoo?  Or is it something you eat?

Or take the word "M.R.I."  What in the heck is a "M.R.I."??

I been reading books, both kid and adult books.  I want to learn more, so I read more.  I read like a bookworm.  I read all the time!!  It's no wonder I get so booksmart; I am learning everyday about things!!

I go to therapy-doctor's twice a week, to help my walking.  I am getting better at it, still feel unsure on my new legs, so I use the crutch-sticks.  Therapy-doctor tells me that's okay; it just take time, as I still learning.  I will be glad when I get rid of crutch-sticks; crutch-sticks bite my elbows all the time, leave marks!  Then I should be able to run like cheetah-cat!!  Fast, fast, fast!!

Well, I go now.  Going to go to my friend Austin's house.  We going to play video games all afternoon.  Off work today, so I can do that.  I just got up at ten; it now nearly 1:30 in afternoon-time.  Sleepy Slobo!  Yes, that was me! :)  I will write again soon; 'til later, this is Slobo saying so long!  Be good!

~Love, your friend, Slobo Anton Trbanek.  :)
