I had a very close call about a half hour ago. I'm still shaking badly as a result of it.
I was on my way home from work (got off at two; went in at six this morning) when a semi truck missed striking my car by just a few feet (seemed more like a few inches). I thought for sure I was going to die ...
I don't know how I managed to avoid getting hit. I think it was only by a miracle that I wasn't hurt or even killed. The truck, meanwhile, jacknifed after it swerved to avoid hitting me. The truck had a blowout; this was what caused it to veer out of control. Heard the blast; for a minute, I thought I had been shot. It was beyond terrifying!
Traffic is now tied up until they clean up the mess and make sure that the truck driver didn't suffer any serious injuries. All I can do now is pray for the driver and pray that he made it through without too many problems.
I am sitting at a coffee shop not too far from where this incident took place. I just notified my husband that I would be home because I was in a near accident, but I told him I was fine; I wasn't hurt. He sounded so relieved! I will have to sit here a while to calm my thudding heart and my jangled nerves.
God definitely put His great big hand in front of me to protect me from harm. I have no other explanation except that He went out of His way to keep me from certain death or serious injury.
I know now that my God is indeed real. Otherwise, why would He have gone out of His way to keep the truck from striking my vehicle?? I am still here, even after something so terrifying like the near-accident I just went through only a half hour ago!
