Dear Journal~
Louisiana Sandusky writing. This won't be long, but I just wanted to let you know that it is raining in Texas!!
My friends, the Pearsons, who live in Fort Worth, as well as my friend, Breeanne Clarke, who lives just south of there in Burleson, are all reporting rain showers traversing through their area! They said it's been raining before it got light outside and at ten o'clock this morning, it is still raining!
Answered prayers! Hallelujah! (My rain-dance worked!)
As you can imagine, both Phoebe and Breeanne were excited. They called me at about seven (Phoebe) and seven-thirty, quarter-to-eight (Breeanne), and they were estatic: you could definitely hear the excitement in their voices!
Texas needs a lot more rain, but right now, they'll take whatever they can get. They are in the middle of a catastrophic drought; they are nearly 20 inches below normal in terms of rainfall. Everything has been dying becuse of the torrid heat conditions down there. Well, a lot of the country has been praying for relief, and it looks like our prayers were finally realized! Today is definitely a "Hallelujah Day", especically as far as Texas weather is concerned!
After today it's back to the heat, but then next week, there'll be a return chance of rain and thunderstorms. Better than nothing, but personally, I will be glad to see this terrible heat come to an end for them! They have had a horrible summer!
Here it is raining as well: sixty percent of t-storms today and eighty percent tonight, but we've been getting rain. Texas hadn't until today (or at least the area where Breeanne and Phoebe live, anyway). I bet the weathermen down there are extremely popular, and I bet there are a lot of happy people! I know I would be if I were down there!
Well, I am going to go: the kids are starting to rise; they want their breakfast. I will write in here another day, but I just had to tell you about the rain in Texas! Isn't that wonderful news? God is so good!
Take care and God bless! Continue to pray for more rain for Texas and other drought-stricken areas!
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Louisiana May. :)
