A woman in Oklahoma shares her story.

My name is Gloria Mae Woods and I live with my family in Oklahoma.  We live in Kingfisher, which is just south of Oklahoma City and Norman.  I have been married for 15 years and have the most amazing husband in Kirk.  He means everything to me.

We have been blessed with three beautiful children (daughters), who are the lights of our lives.  Our daughters are 5, 7, and 12; their names are River Justice, Ezrah Philippa, and Sunflower Layne.  (Don't ask me how we came up with such crazy names: both Kirk and myself wanted something totally different!)

I am happy to say that River, Ezrah, and Sunflower are all healthy.  Sunflower, our youngest, does, however, have allergies and asthma, but medicines and constant monitoring of her condition keeps it at bay.  The last time she was in the hospital was 2 years ago, when she was 3.

At times the girls have been rambunctious ... but then, don't ALL kids get this way from time to time?  :)  Seriously, though, they are good kids who know right from wrong and delight in entertaining others.  (All three girls dance or sing because they WANTED to: we did NOT force them into it!!  As long as River, Suni, and Ezzie WANT to do it, then we will let them; when it ceases to be fun for them, then we'll let them persue something else.)

Besides music (or singing or dancing), ou girls are talented at making crafts, drawing and painting, writing, and gymnastics.  We don't know where Ezzie, River, or Suni get all this talent because as for Kirk or myself, we're both about as talented as a dead cactus! LOL

We try to keep  order among the girls, but they do have their moments where they drive us crazy, especially Ezrah and Sunflower.  Both girls are little fireballs of pure kinetic energy:  they don't stop moving from the time they get up in the morning until they lay their little heads down upon their pillows at night, when they go to bed!

Kirk works as a pipe-fitter; as for me, I'm a stay-at-home mother and homeschool teacher.  I'm always with the girls and teach them here at home.  Kirk or I don't like what is being taught in public schools, so we teach our children as WE see fit and there is nobody who is gonna tell us WHAT we can (or CANNOT) teach them!

Both Kirk and I are very strong Christians; it is our duty as parents to teadh them about God and/or godly-based values.  I'm glad to say that Ezrah and River have both accepted Jesus as their Saviour and I am hoping that Sunflower will do the same thing when she is a little bit older.

We go to church every Sunday and Wednesday.  We go to a Southern Baptist church here in Kingfisher.  We love the Lord with all ou hearts and He is first in our lives.  We cannot imagine NOT having Him!

Well, Ezzie is crying about a spider in the bathroom, so I'll have to send Kirk to deal with it.  I am extremely arachnaphobic: any spider I see (no matter what size it may be!) nearly sends me into convulsions!  I also have to gt supper on:  tonight it's chicken enchiladas, fresh garden salad, home fries, and, for dessert, home-made peach cobbler that I made from scratch.

I hope you enjoyed reading about me and my family.  May God bles you always!

~Love in Christ, your new friend in Oklahoma, Gloria Mae.  :)
